Nightblade DoT build?

I am re installing the game after having preordered at launch and swiftly dropping the game after i couldn't level cause every quest was bugged at launch.

My original plan for a build was to focus on duel wield axes/bow and getting as many DoT's on the target as well as siphoning Health. Are there any current meta builds that follow this setup?

If you want a dot based character you really want to plan on using staves and magicka instead of weapons and stamina. Nightblade has a half decent dot in cripple, and you will also want the dot from the mages guild line. Additionally fire staff will proc burning and also has it's own dots in the destruction staff line.

If you make a stamina character then focus on using the weapon abilities and the two nb abilities that now scale from stamina.

Oh and expect to do lots of dungeons for the valkyn skoria undaunted set that procs extra damage on dots.

I have a nightblade two handed dps in 5 pieces medium 2 heavy and i run a dot/siphon build just like a death knight or shadowknight from EQ2 and WOW. I honestly find two handed to be way better in overall DPS thanks to rally for a 20% damage increase and wrecking blow for a following 30% damage. 10k dps by vet rank 5 is easily done in single target etc. I personally would run two handed with rally with the extra heal morph your main siphon ranged healing dot, refreshing path for extra healing plus dot or cleave with bleed dot with ultimate gain etc. Then run wrecking blow for your spam skill along with your 20% finisher in your assassination tree for health and magicka recover. Run a stamina build and you will faceroll all VR content including world bosses.

I like the idea of DoT builds because I won't get stuck just buffing up and then spamming one or 2 damage skills over and over.

Personally I like a magicka DoT NB but I think both magicka and stamina are viable.

For the DW/Bow you wanted I would do something like this:

Bar 1: Bow
1. Poison Arrow (morph to you personal preference)
2. Scorched Earth
3. Acid Spray
4. Piercing Mark
5. Shadow Image (to help get you out of trouble)
Ult: (up to you)

Bar 2: DW
1. Ambush
2. Blood Craze (for HoT too)
3. Blade Cloak/ Blur / Shadow Cloak
4. Killers blade (finisher)
5. Mass Hysteria (in love with this skill)
Ult: Soul Tether

For magicka, if you're into it:

Bar 1: Destruction Staff (fire)
1. Dark Cloak
2. Elemental Drain
3. Destructive Reach
4. Lotus Fan
5. Elemental Blockade
Ult. Meteor (morph to your preference)

Bar 2: Restoration Staff (
1. Structured Entropy
2. Crippling Grasp
3. Strife (morph to your preference)
4. Harness Magic
5. Healing Ward
Ult. Soul Tether
