Need help making Nightblade DPS Magicka or Stamina Build with high solo survivability

Hey guys. I just got back into playing the game from a 2-3 month hiatus, and recently resubbed; I wanted to ask for some good solid builds or suggestions for my NB.

I really want to do a Magicka build, however, if Stamina seems to be a better route to go, I don't mind. I think I have a decent build right now (I'm not online at the moment to check what my skills are/etc) with kinda in the middle of Stamina/Magicka, Stamina seems to be what the majority of my skills are, however. I have Dark Cloak, Surprise Strike(?) Blood Craze(?) (I forget what the one is where its a stabbing motion, and it does more damage to stunned opponents) and Swallow Soul (from what I remember--Ill try to update this post with my current build later)

Attributes are 58 in Health, 1 in Magicka, 0 in Stamina. Im VR 11, and my focus is PVE.

I like to use Dual Wield and a Bow (if the build can work those in I would be greatful)

Also, is there a gear-set I should look to craft to help with the build? I only have normal crafted gear (mostly blues and purples).
@PoisonedPaint - RPers, feel free to add! I'm on NA, EST Zone. Has odd playtimes.

think your choice should be sap tank build. So you will need 1h&b.
    armor 5 heavy + light belt/gloves
    allways blocking
sap essence (main spam for group targets)
refreshing path (gap close + somewhat heal) or may be use lotus fan/ambus/shield charge (what will be more effective with resource managment)
leaching attacks (resourse managment allways on)
swallow soul (main single target attach HoT)
    impale (finisher)
absorb magic (block cost reduction + spell projectile protection heal)
spread it between 2 bars as you like, then add some protective skills on your taste (unmoveble from armor or bone shield from undawnted)

ulti soul tether and or vail of blades
If you are going to be vampire then - bats

I think you should use sets for magika resource managment smth like seducer and/or warlock parts.

you can also try to use 1h&b on one bar and resto on enother and add more healing (think mutagen will be good)

You DPS will not be very high but you can solo half craglorn content

Thank you very much for your suggestion! :) Would this build also constitute as a tank build in groups?

(If anyone else has any other ideas/etc feel free to post, Im sure this can help others too :) )

Yep, you may tank with this build if add taunt skills (inner beast, puncture)
But in case of vampire it will be very difficul to tank fire bosses (vet EH, CoA) you'll need to recast shields (annulment) very often so will need alot of resources

Sounds interesting :D I heard in the past the fire weakness was very easy to overcome with Dunmer racials and a few enchants? I do have werewolf atm, though not sure if I like it. Vamp is something I have yet to try.

You cannot completely nullify vampire fire weakness. When you cap fire dmg mitigation you take 50% when vampire take (100+40)*50%=70%. Dunmer can cap fire mitigation easier but if he is a vampire he still will take 70%.

Yup, sap tank is still strong in 1.6 it seems; the suggested build above is a good one.

How about the lack of dmg that sap tanks do. I am having a lot of trouble with it

I wear all heavy 5 set bonus histbark, 4 set bonus songs of lamae

    Sword and Shield
    Mirage
    Refreshing path
    Sap essence
    Ransack
    Siphoning attacks

Dual Wield (which i have no idea what I am doing but works well will questing)
    Reapers mark
    Shadowy disguise
    Surprise attack
    Killers Blade
    Merciless Resolve

I do like no dmg. Does anyone have any suggestion on my build that I can improve. I have heard that caltrops is good to have. I do not know just looking for someone to give me some direction.

    Here's my magicka nb build.

2 piece undaunted (nerieneth or valkyn) any weight
    4 piece martial knowledge light
    1 piece torugs pact light
1 torugs pact staff , fire
    2 torugs pact swords
    3 piece healers jewellery

Staff bar: degeneration, impale, funnel health, siphoning attacks, inner light

Swords bar: lotus fan, refreshing path, sap essence, siphoning attacks, inner light.

The swords are just for the extra spell damage and 1k more hps, this might get changed in the future but for now it's working for me.

This build is primarily for fighting packs of mobs, if I have to fight a boss I swap the swords bar to:

Cripple, grim focus, harness magicka or a resto staff + healing springs.

Pretty easy build to solo with, lotus fan into mobs, hold block, refreshing path, spam sap essence until most of the mobs drop, switch to second bar, degeneration, funnel health, impale on anything still standing.

I run all magicka glyphs, and I haven't changed the healer glyphs on the jewellery yet, can't remember what they default to, it's either cost reduction or spell damage

Ultimates I like meteor or veil, and the nb single target that builds ultimate on kills, killers blade perhaps it is called, I forget.
