Major and Minor Confusion

I think these titles for these buffs/debuffs is confusing and unnecessary. There are so many and they're so new that it makes reading the patch notes a tab-switching game. I was thinking how annoying it's going to be while playing the game and having to switch back and forth, but I googled "eso 1.6 skills" and it appears that in the tooltips it says the name of the buff/debuff AND what it does. So my question/complaint is: Why all the titles and unnecessary titles for these buffs/debuffs? Why not just say what it does, and leave out some silly name for it?
Why haven't I seen anything about this in the forums? I would've thought it would pop up as soon as the PTS was online, but I've either missed the conversations about it, it really isn't that big of a deal in game (which I guess it could be), or we've all given in and know that ZOS doesn't listen to us/reason (not necessarily about this, but many things since beta/launch). Whatever the case may be, I wanted to see if anyone else shares my confusion. Thank you.
Edit: This bugged me enough to make a post while trying to look up "Major Spell Shatter" from the patch notes under one hand and shield, and realizing that there is no Spell Shatter and searching to find that they renamed it or something in one of the PTS patch notes...
