It is easy what happen with 2 handed weapons damage. They took all the magical soc damage and added it to the 2 handed weapon. At least that is my soc friend said while standing next to his uber pet.

Guys, we're looking at this now. Please keep this thread constructive while we investigate the root cause. Thanks!

When you decide to hotfix these problems, please fix the disaster you've made of crafting. I have no idea how you expect us to run tests on vr9 gear.

The rules engine for a MMO is no more or less complex than any other application suite, and should be held to the same standards.

Yep. thats why Windows and MS Office have weekly patches. They have their product perfect.

An interesting conjecture, but as someone else pointed out, there are many patches for Microsoft products as is, just for an example. It's also strange that people are nitpicking this without it even being on live, as if PTS isn't a tool specifically for finding problems that make it past the standard checks.

Moreover, it may not even be true that an MMO is only as complex as any other application suite. Going back to Office products, many of those have common data types between them, and much of what changes is simply the GUI and a few file encoding differences. With games, data values are influenced through much more dynamic models involving diverse input, and may not even be of the same data type to start with. Conversely, applications like Word and Excel have easily determinable combinations of possible influence to the data (This cell has a border with these properties, the text is bold, italic, and in this font). Much more simple! Compare that to "This character is flying through the air in an arc determined at button push, while simultaneously gaining a damage shield, landing here, affecting these players with stats xyz for damage of these types, etc etc, all influenced by the player's own stats and set item procs.

While I agree with the folks that are saying "This is a Test server" and this stuff is what these servers are for. Bugs of this catastrophic nature in regards to gameplay should not make it past Internal QA.

To me, it demonstrates just how unlike real players their QA department is. This bug specifically simply just starts to happen to you over the coarse of your play session.

I for one, sincerely hope 1.6 is delayed. The broken/bugges issues of 1.6-1.6.2 have nearly all been noticeable within a normal players session within a little to a few minutes. Speaking volumes as to the pressure these teams are under to produce this content, in any from, in the given schedule.

FTFY - we should all know by now that there is only internal tester. How else could all these issues get sent to PTS without being noticed? This isn't the first time that obvious game-breaking bugs were found on PTS by players. Previous patches also went to LIVE with game-breaking bugs still in coding, even after players /bug report them.

ZOS saves money by only hiring one tester, probably named Bob, and makes paying players test the patches. It's been like this for over a year... am I the only one that knew this?

Come on now ZoS. Is there absolutely NO testing going on over there? I don't know about you guys, but after I code something cool I like to test my code with some Frito's and Mountain Dew.

Why should they test the changes they make, when we are paying to test it for them?!

Yes, it seems any ability used with the two hander line is completely broken.

I used silver shards which was on the same bar as my two hander and i was suddenly 2-3 shotting people. I quit afterwards, i'll wait for a patch as right now it's pointless to test anything.

For what its worth, I cannot make this happen no matter what I try (swapping weapons, War Horn, or anything else). So, its not just "equip 2h = see bug".

The difference between "knowing something" and "pointless incendiary conjecture" is so canyonesque it makes the sunken land of Yokuda look like cracked pavement.

They probably have automated testing and, perhaps, some limited overworld testing to spot-check certain things. That kind of environment gives a bare bones check for how certain things interact, but you need a much larger and more robust environment (like a PTS) to try out combinations of events that only real gameplay can illuminate.

It's okay if you have no insight into game development, coding, common testing procedures, or any area of the industry, but trying to rouse the rabble on half-crocked presumptions is damaging to the community. Please stop. :-|

Just a quick update: we were able to figure out what's causing this (short answer: it's complicated) and will make sure it's fixed in our next PTS patch. It's quite unlikely this will be hotfixed. It's not because it isn't a big deal - it definitely is - but the process to hotfix an issue on the PTS is quite different than the Live megaservers. That said, we're currently planning on having another PTS patch next week.

Thanks for the update! Hopefully the insane damage people are taking will be fixed with this... because if it goes live... PvP is as dead as Elvis.

EDIT- Also I would say to us testers, to make sure ESO devs really fix this, if you get hit with an ability and it seems like too much damage just take a screenshot of your Death Recap and post it here. Vids help too.

Will this next patch make it so that Guards can finally and justifiably be killed, instead of having them be gods compared to all players?

Guards in towns should be basically unkillable... imagine how insane the Justice System and towns/cities would get if you could just kill the guards and get away with everything... that sucks.

    Agreed.

If guards could be killed, there would be no risk to Justice System. Just steal/pickpocket/murder and never pay a bounty because if you get caught you can just kill the guard.

Even super strong (but not invincible) guards would simply lead to players grouping up in zergballs and Impulse-spamming until guards are dead. Again, no risk.

The point of the Justice System, at least while still PvE only, is to not get caught. Maybe when the PvP part gets added you could make guards able to be killed because other players can hunt you down, not just guards.

But as long as the Justice System is PvE only, guards need to be invincible. Otherwise you might as well have not added the Justice System and just email every player a bag of gold every day.

I know my reading comprehension sucks and all, since I am getting old but are you really expecting anyone to be able to test anything with these numbers like this?

The shirt answer is: The game Balance and most of The champion system can't legitimately be tested in this environment. Atleast revert the build to 1.6.1, so testing can continue on the stuff that hasn't changed with the new iteration.
