Hello,

I'm planning on maining a DK. I'd like to participate in both PvP and PvE with him.
I'll be playing magicka based builds the most but I would also like to be able to swap to stamina. Which race would be the best? How is 10% magicka from Bretons vs 12% health in PvP? Are Orcs simply lackluster racial-wise?

Imperial. The 12% you get to HP and the 10% you get to stamina allows you to run a magicka build with a lot of health and stamina in PvP. My Imperial DK personally has 2.5k magicka 3k HP and 1.9k stamina inside Cyrodiil.

Orcs are meh, and Bretons are okay, if you want to min/max for a Dragonknight then use an Altmer or a Dunmer, use the Altmer if you're not worried about stamina that much, and the Dunmer if you want magicka AND stamina boosts.

Both Dunmer and Altmer get fire based damage boosts which helps the Dragonknight class since everything it does is fire based.

If you're focusing more on PvP, Imperial, Altmer/Dunmer if you want to be able to do everything. Breton is nice... But I wouldn't run it with a Dragonknight because you don't really need the cost reduction or spell resistance passive. Just use Hardened Armor

Thank you for your response. I do not like Dunmer, so those are not an option for me. Altmer and Breton look somewhat alike on paper, how are those races versus an Imperial in PvE? With the removal of softcaps coming with update 6 (right?) Imperials seem very solid.

Orcs are Meh for Magicka builds, they are fine for stamina builds and make good tanks.

I think that was a great response. I am lvl 21 now and have to decide which way I want to build my Breton/Dragon Knight character. I use arrows and staffs a great deal. Because my character is weak in swords, axes, and daggers. I have just started to battle with the two hand held axes. I have had some success. But this explanation helps out a great deal too. Thanks

im new here. I just created a Nord DK. I did not see anyone using a Nord DK build. Is there something so wrong with this? Yes, I plan to play mainly,a magic using DK with a few Weapon skills. Is the Nord so bad that no one uses?

Nord can't be bad, the passive for taking 6% less damage from all sources is imo, the best passive in the game for all round builds. Doesn't matter what you are.
