Healing as anything but Templar

Hello all--

I've been messing around on the PTS for a few hours in the hopes of finding a class that 1) can heal end-game content (trials, AA, VSA, SO) while 2) NOT being a templar. I have always loved the HoT-style of healer (druids in EQ, WoW, etc.)

I was hoping that others could share their experiences and builds as well:

1) I think nightblades have the potential to be very strong. Funnel health seems to be providing quite a bit of HPS (especially when compared to rapid regen).
Any idea what refreshing path will provide? I have not got the morph yet, but I am curious if it will make it another ***more realistic than current 1.5*** option.

2) DKs-- I think they could have the potential to be very strong healers as well . Damage shields would seem to make them able to function as a sort of Disc-priest preventing damage from taking place. I am unsure how this play out once damage-shields are "tuned"

3) Sorcs-- just don't know enough about them. It would seem that resource management would be rivaled only by NBs with dark exchange, etc.

What do you all think?

NB healer here (off-spec). I only healed one dungeon on the PTS and was missing half my gear because of the horse/inventory bug, but on the main server, healing as a non-templar is fine.

I have a friend who is a sorc who has healed trials (and they are an off-healer really). I hear DKs can make good healers too. It really depends on your playstyle.

It depends not only on your playstyle, but also on the people you are playing with. I play a V14 templar healer and I think that of course a templar is the usual choice for a classical healer.

But if you play with good players, any class can do some fine healing with a restoration staff. I just think that healing with a templar is easier than with other classes.

I played through the real game to max VR level as a sorcerer using a healing staff.

Most of the time I and was able to survive pretty much anything solo or group by healing even when my damage was lower.

I used both heavy and light armor builds some times one worked better than the other, but both worked well.

Nightblade Healing with a pic now that I can play my main on PTS again.

I swapped my Flame set to get healer bonus, but this is without the heal totem only using rapid regen and health funnel. Champion points spent are...

    Tower Tree
    -Magician +23
-- 6.6% reduction to magicka cost

    Lord Tree
    -Bastion +24
-- 9% increased effectiveness of damage shields

    Apprentice Tree
    -Blessed + 12
    -- 5.7% Increased healing

    Ritual Tree
    -Thaumaturge +11
-- 5.3% increased Poison, Disease and Magic damage

So far it averages 6900 HPS just from those two spells.

VR14 NB here with MS Healer/Tank, OS DPS. I can say with 100% certainty that NB's are the closest currently to Templars (especially on PTS) for Healers. All 4 Classes have Healed ALL current content in ESO just fine, Templar is just the go-to Healer. I would say play each of the 4 Classes at least until you get a good feel for them and then maybe decide which you'd prefer to Heal with. I created a thread with suggestions of how ZoS can bolster the unique Healing styles of non-Templars to bring them further inline as Healers without either nerfing Temps or just buffing the Resto tree.

    EDIT: I should mention I use 5pc Mara + 4pc Healer's Habit + 2pc EG.

I run a NB Dot healer on live....rapid regen, funnel health, and healing ward for spread out fights, sap essence, healing springs, and refreshing path for aoe and stack fights with inner light on both bars and veil and barrier as ult. other slots are fight dependent for things like shades, bone shield, and combat prayer!

I have main healed everything in game just fine except vet CoA....I am a vamp, and all that fire hurts!

Running 5 piece healer, 4 piece magnus, 2 piece willows!
Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets - Argonian mNB Tank/Heals (PVP)
Strawberry Semifreddo - Dunmer mSorc DPS // Sunny D-Light - Breton mTemp Heals
Peanut Butter Sandwich - Orc sDK DPS // Kellogg's Frosted Flakes - Argonian mWard Tank/Heals (PVE)

As am I but Vet CoA isn't that bad. Just wait until you see what ZoS did to the Legendary Fire Glyph in 1.6.2. It's only worth ~3.5% Fire resist now, what a joke.

I think all the jewelry enchants are chaotic right now. Spell and weapon power only give .7-1.2% damage increase with max level enchantment too. I feel like they only want us using Cost Reduction variants.
