Enlightment??

    Hey all. Here's some specifics about how Enlightenment works:

    You'll receive a pool of XP that you'll gain at an accelerated rate. That amount is 400,000 XP during every 24-hour period. You are able to gain XP at the accelerated rate for up to 3 days worth of time, equaling 1.2 million in XP. This pool of XP can be spent on any of your veteran rank characters.

    There should be no way to lose Enlightenment other than earning your allotted XP during that period of time. If you're noticing a loss of Enlightenment after zoning, entering a dungeon, or randomly during your time in-game, and you have not reached that max number of XP, that is not working as designed. We've submitted the reports in this thread to our team, but be sure to continue submitting /bug reports if it continues.

    Hopefully this helps to clear up some of your questions.

    Any way to actually see how much is left? I have yet to be able to tell.
    Power level to CP160 in a week:
    Where is the end game? You just played it.
    Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.

    No there isn't. It's something I would like to see listed in Active Effects.

    Enlightenment is a fine idea, but if the way it is set up is encouraging the most active players to not play the game for 3 days so they can have one good extended period of CP gain.... well that's not good at all.

    Not sure you understand. Players earn a 400k pool every day regardless if they are playing or not. Saving 1.2 million from 3 days and spending them all at once is no difference then spending each 400k each day as they are earned.

    Enlightenment actually encourages people to log in at least once every 3 days. Be better to log in daily to spend them so there is no risk of loosing some.

    Casuals are actually encouraged to use at least some of there enlightenment bonus on a daily basis to make sure they dont go over cap. Use enough enlightenment then on the weekend clear out there stockpile.

    My understanding is that you earn Enlightenment by NOT playing. Otherwise how is it supposed to be helping casuals to keep up with the hardcore people that play 60 hours a week?

    You get enlightenment every 24 hours regardless of whether you've been playing or not. I agree with your point, and that is how it was suggested that it was going to work when it was announced, but it doesn't actually seem to work like that.

    I think instead the difference comes because casuals will play less and therefore accumulate more Enlightenment (eg if they miss a day of playing), while hardcore players will use up all their Enlightenment quickly.

    if you are not playing, enlightenment will expire after three days. So on fourth day you will lose whatever you didn't spend from day one. So, whoever will play hard core will get more. To use up all enl. you will need get 100k exp per day. If you are less than that you will start losing wrt those who plays 60 hours per week :)

    One could reason that you can't loose what you never have earned.

    As it is now, with the current amount of XP needed for a CP it feels quite grindy. I would not mind having a long extended journey to become more powerful (aka grindy) IF I was becoming more powerful then I was before Update 6. Now it's a long journey/ grind just to get back to where I was already. That is what rankles me and I think the majority of players that have actually spent time on the PTS. I dislike the loss of power and versatility that I have now more then the fact that Champion Points will take a long time to gain.

    I don't think it's ever lost, I just think three days is the cap. So after three days, whether you play on the third day or two weeks later, you'll have 1,200,000 EPs to use. Although perhaps reading it another way, that is what you meant.

    its just not enough i'd rather just see 100k per champ point period that way im not stuck only wanting to play for 1 lousy hour a day... and wasting the other 400k per point after i got my 1 point for the day or make champion points cost 200k and keep the 400k enlightenment so we can gain 2 in the same day without wasting as much exp.... at the moment its too friggan high i hate having my progress inhibited or wasted. i played vindictus they had a lame token per dungeon cost that crippled the desire to play and limited what you could do in a day they removed it because it sucked and everyone hated it.

    100k = 1 CP (yes)
    200K= 1 cp ( also acceptable)
    300k= i dont feel like playing past my 1 hour grind
    400k= past that 1 point a day i dont feel like playing dungeoning or anything out of fear of wasted effort that could be used constantly while leveling. this update and progression system makes me not even wanna play anymore since i cant play how i want without penalty. cp feels like logging to collect my daily hireling mail then logging off til tomorrow it sucks...

    Players who spend an average of 30 mins - 1 hour a night during the week and slightly more during the weekend will likely be able to get full use of their enlightenment the same as players who spend 10 times longer playing the game.

    The ones who play longer will earn more champion points but not due to enlightenment. They will have to spend 4 times champion point above what the base that both casuals and hard cores receive if they play a little during the week and "catch" up on the weekends.
    ==========================

    That being said I do think enlightenment needs to be adjusted somewhat. That bonus could depend on what the champion point difference looks like in game.

    IE:
    Lets assume an average player has 100 Champion Points.
    Players with 0-39 Champion Points Enlightenment Bonus could be: 8 times
    Players with 40-79 Champion Points Enlightenment Bonus could be: 6 times
    Players with 80+ Champion Points Enlightenment Bonus could be: 4 times

    Every few weeks or month the above values could change depending on the the average Champion Point totals. This will give a boost to let people catch up.

    However, there is one big problem with Spellscare grinding:
    Everyone knows about the place, it will be way overcrowded once 1.6 goes live.
    So you get only 1/3 of the XP per mob. If you get the mob at all...

    The situation in Cyrodiil won't be much different in it's result, though it will have other reasons.
    There is only few gank-PvP around the quest locations right now, but that may change.
    Yet my last 1on1 kill was worth 1,3xx XP which is 5,2xx with enlightenment so this might be worth it.

    That's what I expect as well (that Spellscar will be crowded even though the exp there got reduced by 65% and that more people will do quests and gank questers in Cyrodiil). However, in the current PTS version, I personally got the most Exp per hour by simply hunting normal monsters in groups of 1-3 in VR 10 Bangkorai. I didn't AoE farm them or anything, just killed them 1 by 1, and I got about 1 Champion Point every 30-40 minutes (as I currently seem to have an infinite pool of Enlightenment on the PTS). You'll notice in the table that I've posted that VR 10 monsters in the main VR 10 zones give 1'240 exp each (with Enlightenment active) which is a bit more than twice the exp per monster that you get in Craglorn.
    Normal VR questing, with any character that isn't VR 14 yet, seems to offer good Champion Point exp per hour as well (though I haven't really been able to test that yet).

    <insert meme of my head exploding>

    You kinda wish this was simple and noticeable with the addition of a visual representation in the default game UI. This game doesn't show the exp bar like other MMORPG's constantly so maybe a glow or an indicator that is seen on the actual character but not visible to other characters would help and a tool-tip that is seen on each log-in of any character if this is actually account wide.

    The tool-tip would indicate how much was earned and how much remains.

    It would be nice to have an indicator with the current bar that shows the current amount of enlightenment, such as (500,000/1,200,000), like we have for XP.
