@ZOS - Could we have a Template with all possible CPs unlocked?

Hello dear ZOS Team!

As you might have noticed there is a lot of controversy going on about your new Champion System. One point being amongst several more or less valid concerns is that this system might cause a substantial power gap among new and veteran players. If this could be the case it is certainly bad for the system and therefore the overall health of the game. I hope you agree on that matter.

What I would humbly ask you to do is give us a template on the PTS with all possible CPs unlocked so our fellow theory crafters could do some research if - and if so, at which point exactly that power gap becomes unbearable to new players. I personally think that this action would really help to negate some concerns about that otherwise very good patch.

Kind regards,
Berinima

    There will be a power gap regardless due to gear. ZoS has stated gear will be season based once veteran ranks disappear and the older seasons will be much easier to obtain while newer seasons much harder. The gap between these seasons will likely be much smaller thus newer players will have an easier time having competitive gear. They will just need to catch up in champion points.

    Champion Point Gaps will become an issue and I feel ZoS should look at ways to overcome this. I feel there is already a mechanic added that can help.
    ====================================
    ====================================

    Enlightenment: Currently base bonus increases exp earned towards Champion points by a value of 4.

    This mechanic could be adjusted to increase champion points based on total champion points earned. Few champion points a player has the faster they earn the points.

    Example:
    Lets assume the average player has 100 Champion Points.
    Instead of giving every player 4 times enlightenment bonus it changes based on that players champion point total.

    Week 1:
    0-39 Champion Points: 8 Times Enlightenment Bonus.
    40-79 Champion Points: 6 Times Enlightenment Bonus.
    80+ Champion Points: 4 Times Enlightenment Bonus.

    The above values changes according to the average players champion points.
    Lets say after 2 Weeks the new average player now has 140 champion points.

    0-59 Champion Points: 8 Times Enlightenment Bonus.
    60-160 Champion Points: 6 Times Enlightenment Bonus.
    120+ Champion Points: 4 Times Enlightenment Bonus.

    Lets say a year passes and now the average player has 1,000 Champion Points.
    0-299 Champion Points: 12 Times Enlightenment Bonus.
    300-599 Champion Points: 8 Times Enlightenment Bonus.
    600-899 Champion Points: 6 Times Enlightenment Bonus.
    900+ Champion Points: 4 Times Enlightenment Bonus.
    =====================================

    The above changes of Enlightenment still requires the ones with fewer champion points to earn their points, but it lets them earn them faster. I rather not see free points be given with no work required.

    The above values were just an example. Likely a better way to set it up but the gist is still the same.

    While I agree with what they said and the numbers, that's a world of difference from what is executed, which is why we need the champion points to test this today, rather than months from now when players figure out some unintended super combo.

    One possible thing that would also make life easier is not only allow us to plan but also leave the 'plan' as a guide for any new earned CP... So, let's say you plan ahead and allocate 200 points... You only have 25, though... So, the next 175 points will be automatically allocated where you planned (in the proper order)
    So you can pretty much 'build' your 'dream build' at start and just play while watching your character 'grow' to meet your dream build.

    I agree with this idea. Give us plenty of CP in order to test out the system to the fullest. Many players are feeling weaker on the PTS compared to live, which they are. The CP system is intended to provide the buffs and abilities and stats that we now lack. A more completely filled out champion tree will allow us to experience everything that 1.6 has to offer.

    To really test the system people should get access to everything (especially power imbalances.. .. I saw a 33k dps werewolf thread yesterday...I understand average dps is 10k...so it seems there is already a large power discrepancy .... Maybe make full cp unlock only on 1 faction so it can be PvP tested...

    I'd like it for every faction though... To test power gaps it might be nice to go back and forth between different champion levels in a controlled environment (1vs1, 3vs3, 8vs8 etc.). But as a special testing event I could totally see giving it only one faction. That would actually be very interesting to see.

    My honest opinion is that the top two passives of the Champion System trees are not even tested yet given that nobody will have those until maybe March or June at the soonest and those will be the truly hardcore people. That is probably why you don't have enough points to test them. They may not even be implemented at all yet.

    Please don't forget that you can respec your CP allocations for 100 gold. When CP goes live, you're not locked into a certain CP mix (though your character will eventually find the right one).

    But, yes, I agree with most everything said ... it would be nice to test builds with different combos of over 70 CP whether CP has been allocated or not.

    Totally agree w/ the OP. If they want us to test the Champion System we should be allowed to test the whole system.
