Sorc Pets -- They don't crit. WHY?

Can we talk about why sorc pets don't crit at all?

You have a certain amount of "spell critical strike chance".

You cast a spell that creates a twilight matriarch

The twilight matriarch is a spell

So why don't the attacks of the twilight matriarch crit with the same crit chance as your character?

This seems to be broken.

    Hmm...

If they were worthy in combat, they would not be so lame as to be entrapped by someone like my sorcerer.

Seriously, I think conjured animals should not do critical damage. That is somewhat over powering. My role is to kill things, they are assistants. I don't want some pet of an NPC doing critical damage on me, either

If they aren't supposed to be worthy in combat, why have them in the first place?

Mobs in general have very low or non-existent crit chance. I imagine Sorc pets are the same.

PVE wise Daedric summoner is really good. the morph where your pet heals you when below 35% health is really nice and the tank also. I would not be suprised if you had both pets out with empowered ward which gives you and pets a damage sorb bubble and also increase your pets damage by 30% if you could not solo craglorn and especially if you had invigorating drain and devouring swarm ult as a vampire. Most people do not like playing summoners though because they are easy and really boring. If necromancy becomes a thing thought I am sure lots of classes will have at least one pet lying around haha. A dunmer DK with a fire atronoch looks really fun when spell crafting comes out.

The better Question is: Why would you even use a pet?
The current implementation of sorcerer summons is horrible.

People like you is why the sorc class is complete garbage. 4/4 for DPS, tanking, healing.

Seriously, there is no reason to have a sorc for ANY of the endgame content.

Thanks for contributing to making the rest of our lives harder.

Because sorcs in general are garbage for DPS. Empowered ward + storm atronoch might actually be viable for end game raiding.

Sorcs have no DoT abilites, which is a big factor that contributes to their low DPS. Using a pet might be a suitable replacement for a DoT... but the pets don't crit.

My sorc does literally 1/2 the DPS my DK pulls, and my sorc is one of the best on the server.

Same, my NB + DK pulls way more dps, without even trying.

Sorcerer is "LFM 1 Negate". Sort of how templar is "LFM 1 heal". Sorcerer is not dps at the moment. It's troublesome, considered how most raids consist of 8-9 dps.

Topic: The Twilight could actually be a nice dps boost, if it didn't die instantly. Pet's are even stupider than Lyris, when it comes to situational awareness. Their average life-expectancy is roughly 3 seconds. Why put that on your weapon bar?

I really wish the Restoring Twilight did better dmg, worked as an instant cast spell with a set duration, instead of a summoning toggle. That would be a great dps ability. Would work a bit like a DoT, but also add some group support with the magicka recovery boost.

The atronarch is decent DMG even without empowered ward. It´s main attack is a channel though so that would not be able to crit even if pets were able to score critical hits (channels do not crit for players also).

The other two pets might get a a dps of 70 instead of 50 if they´d crit. Still the plain stupid AI and aoe-mechanics render them unusable. Add that you loose 10% of your Manapool and 2! skillslots. I can´t see a way to make pets worth it in their current form.

I´d love for twilight to function like the NBs shades mechanic wise. Maybe with decent dmg as it has no debuff attached.

I brought my pets with me until around vr7. I ran with two for a while. Then I dropped to just one (matriarch) to free up a slot for CC. Then dropped to zero when having a minor MOB distraction and heal/health regen boost just didn't cut it - especially since it died almost immediately in any difficult encounter. Now I'm leveling destruction staff to get impulse. :s I really wish they were still viable - we had a good run - but they just didn't keep up and are very expensive with the multiple skill slots they consume.

Just finished SO on my sorc (I only attempt it once per week on my sorc for the extra coffer)

    My build was:

crushing shock / spell sym / bound armor / twilight / mage light
Empowering ward / power surge / bound armor / twilight / mage light

with 5 piece infallible aether and 3 piece ashen grip.

Kept my bubble up 100% of the time, The only time my matriarch died was on the pink bubble phase of the serpent and pop-rocks/stomp by the manti... if i put my bubble on before the start of the serpent's poison phase she lived through that.

Got a good solid 1100 dps, which isn't amazing, but I know a lot of DK's who struggle to pull 1200 on the serpent.
