Quick question about Levelling a Dragonknight

Hi guys
I'm about to level a DK and was just wondering if it was still viable to go full light armour and use Destro staff/sword and shield or whether it would be better to go resto staff instead of sword and shield. Most guides/vids i see are old.
I am set on using destro staff as main weapon but that's the only requirement I have if anyone has any suggestions
