immovable not op by itsself, but armor activated abilities should be limited to 5 piece equipped.

sorry if rethread.

Immovable not op in and of its self, but armor activated abilities should be limited to 5 piece equipped because every build having it is contributing to the lack of balance.

There is so much talk about the stamina and magica balance issue and this is certainly contributing. having people ( me included) with 7 light and the "only good move" from heavy armor is a problem. I can keep immovable up a long long time between regen and pots if if im using shields too, and its pretty silly, but unfortunately the best option. you spend so much less when you never need to roll or break the only thing i ever spend stamina on is immovable, not likely viable if you dont have other shields though.

having groups of 7 light with hard-capped spell-resist and soft-capped armor + immune to cc(because of immovable), spamming aoe and ults is also contributing to the zerg problem. IF they all needed 5 heavy they would have to choose between cc immune or magica spam and not have both. They would be way easier to deal with if 2/3 of them didnt have cc immunity without completely changing the build.
this would also improve the viability of heavy armor if others did not have immovable.

also would be harder for a single caster to attack whole group and aoe up to ult and drop if one of the people could actually inturrupt his chain of abilites; heavy armor should be able to do this but they have less resources and that helps balance it.

I know these things can be accomplished in other ways but feel like it does not fit with the game being that everything else is locked to equip. It really makes no sense to have a move from "the benefit of x armor" without having the armor. why is it not the same as any other skill line? they need to either fix this or take away requirements for weapons to be equipped and be able to use abilities any time once learned... but that makes no sense so dont do that; make armor fall in line with everything else.

On the one hand I dont want to loose the ability for my caster to have immovable but I think its in the best interest of the game to limit it to equip like everything else.

thanks

if you disagree please explain why( there is a lot of arguing without arguments around here)

100% Agree - I made a thread about this a few weeks ago. No ZOS contribution.

There is simply no way you can logically argue for immovable to be available to a 7/7 light armor wearer.

It completely undermines the point of heavy armor - the skill needs to be only available and the 5 piece cap like the best passive that comes with each armor set.

I feel anyone who disagrees will only do so because there current caster light armor stick waving build benefits massively from this skill, when in my opinion it should not.

This alone will go along way to balancing this game I hope ZOS will see this thread and take notice.

    I 100% agree.

it is complete nonsense that a person in all light armor can use a heavy armor ability. same with all the armor abilities.

ZOS has got to stop supporting the OP LA builds at some point, or they will lose their player base. I for one will not stay if this issue is not addressed.

Players in LA should not have the protection that actual steel does, yet they do because of this armor ability issue. People in LA can be better tanks than people in HA!!!:/ why??

Well Evasion is totally rubbish, while both Harness Magicka and Immovable rocks. I feel that a x5 piece restriction is slightly unfair.

The game also suffers from a complete cc-mess, broken cc-mechanics, unbreakable cc, combined with 0 cool-down on cc abilities. I'm often streak-stunned 3 times in a row, because the immunity timer isn't working. Breaking out works on a good day. Blocking and Immovable is the only tools we have to deal with it, but not everyone is a DK with superior block synergy.

Besides, even if you tie Immovable to heavy, no one's going to give a crap. Being stun-locked for life is still better than wearing heavy lol. That's how rubbish the passives are. How about making heavy armor truly competitive, worth using, instead of turning PvP into the worse CC fest of the century?

I'm not against armor skills restrictions. But they need to fix other stuff first.

its just a fix, every other equip you have to actually equip the item to use the skills... not being able to use critical charge without your two handed isnt a "restriction" its a two handed charge move; I dont see why its you should not have to wear armor to use the armor buff.

I agree with this. U should have to wear atleast 1 piece of the armor type use an armor based skill.

I agree also, many have been talking and asking for this for nearly 6 months now. I hope development take note and the change will come one day.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Maybe a better suggestion would be to tie it to 3 pieces of a certain armor. That way you would have some decisions... that sexy 5 piece bonus on your armor, or that sexy off armor active.

Pretty much every player agrees you should have to wear some heavy for Immovable. ZOS doesn't seem to agree though (not sure why).
Templars are 'just slower... by design'
Yes, Gina actually said that (at least regarding Rushed Ceremony) right here:

now that a full set of light has as much armor as one piece of heavy, at least full light users will still have very low armor even with this active. at least it will be more balanced now.
