I don't need nudity... but, for the love of all that is holy, could we get some sexy armour in this game?

I was completely satisfied with my initial Bosmer Nightblade armour... but then it morphs into creepy khakiness by VR level.

I say no, for the part of, how does having less armor protect me more?

Those open skin areas are good for stabbing and dying.

I would want to not wear the skimpy clothes into battle, personally, it just sounds a health hazard.

While as some one said above if its done in the connan style i'm all for it. But that' have to be medium armor something that makes sense for mobility.

Would I want nothing -but- skimpy armors? No.

Do I think they should be an option for players? Hell yes.

Why can't people have the options for -both-?

I'm a female gamer. I enjoy playing characters that are obviously female, and (in a classy way) showing feminine assets off.

There are limits though. Pointless armor that serves no purpose beyond sex appeal doesn't interest me. By the same token, "granny armor" and "granny clothes" don't interest me either. A balance is ideal.

I wouldn't say ESO is heavy on "granny clothes", but it is quite conservative. A little more spice couldn't hurt. Things need not be Black/White or 1/0, there's a happy-medium to be found. I would say compromise, but that denotes two sides taking a loss which is inaccurate. "Tera" would be on the extreme side of the scale, with ridiculously over-sexualized characters -- I doubt most people here want that, extremes are called such for a reason.

On a sidenote, a friend and I had an interesting discussion awhile back. They were perusing various threads on this subject on the net, and came to an entertaining observation. They claimed that the majority of people who were vehemently against showing of skin in games almost universally had masculine names, and were most likely males, whereas those in support of such outfits were quite often likely women, given their feminine names and the way they wrote. These are generalizations of course, but generalizations are called such because they're generally true.

The "trope" is that the only people who like reasonably revealing armor in games is fat men living in their basement, but our observation was that the reverse is true -- that many women want to have the freedom to play female characters that aren't afraid to show a little skin, while men are quite often quick to play the "White Knight" role and try to protect the virtue of the female gender in games.

I'm a very conservative person in reality. I'm too shy to go around wearing skirts and high heels. I'm happy with my body, but basically I'm a computer geek! So I like to do this in fantasy games instead -- just like a lot of guys like to run around in bulky armor with oversized weapons in games. It's all about having fun.
    Pretty much this

When I open my eyes lately, I see women covering up more. There's a difference between showing a bit of skin and being almost naked. Also, giving women options isn't sexist and trust me, most women here don't want the option to have skimpy clothing. Why? It will mostly be males playing them and making sexual comments like it's been in EVERY other MMO that has skimpy clothing. There may be the few female exception but as a whole, women tend to hate it. They feel sexualized and used. Why don't you start a thread for skimpy outfits just for men? See how that goes? You'll likely get a lot of gay support, the few women and those that are shocked! A man doesn't dress skimpy! He's a man...Roar roar....sexism sexism....

There needs to be more options in the clothing at some point...once the bugs are fixed. I don't disagree with that. However, there is a huge difference between options and almost naked so there may as well not be an option. Run around in your undies I guess. The game allows for that.

Do you currently know any army where the women have skampy outfits. Here boys...some camo! Ladies, here's your skirt and we'd like you in heels. Better practice that running because the ennemy isn't messing around!

I suggest you read Sarenia's post above and stop assuming you know anything about "how women feel" or "what they want" in general just because you claim to be a feminist. Trusting you is the last thing anyone should do since it is obvious your opinion is biased. You fail to realize that this thread is about skimpy clothes for both women and men. Furthermore your lack of insight prevents you and those like you from realizing that perhaps real life females playing this game would like some skimpy clothes for their male characters.

I found this post ammusing, checked it out, anyway yes I wouldn't mind seeing skimpy armors, this game is rated M for Mature already - and adding Motifs based off popular modded armors created by Modders would be a fun thing for Zenimax Online to do.

My hope for this game - is one day they hold contests for people to design armors for Elder Scrolls Online, and the top peoples armors get made into Motifs, it'd pull modders from Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind out and have them designing concept designs for armors.

Skimpy or not I think as long as it's not overly skimpy no one should care - I'd love to see for instance chainmale dresses, and battle harnesses, things of that nature. Styles that make females look comfortable in female armor - at the same time I wouldn't mind seeing Nords in Kilts, I'm sure their are scottish who play ESO as Nords or Imperials that give themselves Red Hair, Long Beards, and making them a bit Ornate, who'd love to show their scottish pride and don a kilt and a claymore in ESO.

As much as I'm sure some people in Norway and Denmark, and Finland who play ESO would love to show off their viking heritage, and don a chainmale Battle Harness, and some tight form fitting leather pants with plating on their thighs and shins((for the ladies obviouslly)) and to anyone who doesn't yet know. Put argonian clothing on anything that isn't an Argonian or a Khajiit... those armors show a lot of skin when Medium. Argonian Females know... if you've got it, flaunt it till the opponent turns blue in the face and bleeds from the nose ;D

I don't know how women feel because I'm a feminist. I know how women feel from all the MMO's that I've played. ''Why is my toon so big breasted?''. ''Why is my armor the wears of a stripper?''

Let's see how many female toons dressed in that manner we get if ONLY WOMEN can play women toons. You will see almost none. Add men to the equation and you will get a TON. I think we both know that's 100% true.

As for men, I never realized that they were objectified and sexualized the way that women have been. Do you want to start a club for all the men who feel horrible because they have been sexualized throughout the ages? Let's face it. Nobody has any issues about men being dressed provocatively in a game. You will almost never see it mind you...Because men are almost never sexualized that way. It's about women. So don't try to make me into some sexist for ignoring men's views. That's pretty much like having a straight pride parade when you were never ostracized.

As for Sarenia's post, does she also feel like an argonian or blue or yellow with big ears? I'm all for different styles of clothing. Sexy can be classy. A lot here want to see skin on female characters for a reason or another. I find it sad and frankly, disturbing. If you need an MMO to feel sexy, to rinse your eye out or to flirt, there's bigger issues at hand if you ask me. Sexy and classy, yes. Skaanky like in most MMO's, no thanks.

I'd be ok with a trait built into crafting, so you could research a more revealing look to all outfits, or just find more racy gear on a corpse, if that appeals...
Using these passion stones or whatever the trait would reduce the effectiveness. And certain npcs should refuse to grant progress in certain unimportant quests, like the Redguard priest who longingly wishes he knew what went on in Dunmer inn basements and associates such goings on with skimpy armor. Or attract unwanted attention from random slimeballs, or furballs. In Alik'r players could drop dead of multiple skin cancers before level 20 and bits fall off them through frostbite in Skyrim. On the other hand some quests can be partly bypassed through a Nord Barbarian flashing a bit of knee in his racy new kilt. Or the old give the merchant some cleavage and that soul gem is yours at a cheaper price, if perhaps you lose a bit of your own soul in the transaction.
In any case, remember that old Orc highlander curse, "May randy Khajiits be always upon your back" and dress accordingly.

Give people options. As long as it's not the only choice available, and isn't limited to one in game gender, then I don't see a problem with it.

I would expect it to have lower armour values in general though (although in a world where a lot of protection is gained through the use of 'magic' I think you'd be able to get by without much on).

Right... because women never dress sexy given the choice.

Also, if female toons could only be played by women, I'm betting a lot of women would probably play as male characters because playing as a female would attract a lot of unwanted attention.

I never understood why people want ARMOUR that barely cover anything?
    It's useless in combat!
I wouldn't mind a "social" type of clothing that would be more revealing but armour ?
We already have a disguise slot on out characters that could be used for customising character appearance (other than just quest related) that Clothier could make or be sold by NPC's.

There's a difference between sexy and skimpy. Also, this is a game. This is not the real world. The armor does look outdated but there's ways to do it without over-sexualizing either genders. Finally, just because someone is doing something, it doesn't mean that you should do it or agree with it. I've seen some 8-9 year old's dressed like mini-hookers. Would I let my daughter dress that way? Nope! I wouldn't expect her to never wear makeup and feel sexy however. Everyone needs to feel nice about themselves. That can be accomplished without basically showing all your assets.

As per recent studies, most men are more attracted to women who show a bit of skin but not too much. Women who show too much aren't respectable in most men's minds and get less respect and are less desirable.

If a man in this thread really is obsessed with pixels showing a ton of skin and being dressed in a skimpy way, I think there's some issues that are pretty deeply rooted. Go watch some *** or get a girlfriend or something if having women dressed skimpy in a game is that important to you.

As I said, fun new armor would be wanted. Skimpy, no thanks. If I want skimpy I'll go see strippers and see their lifeless eyes due to being degraded for money.

That's not true. I have seen a couple of woman say that on forums a long time ago. Since then there have been a lot of males repeating it as if were true for everyone, perpetuating the myth. However, every woman that I have ever met in an online game played female characters. It is easy enough for them to ignore the idiots.

A lot of woman take pride in the fact that they are gamers and are offended by the idea, that many people have, that woman don't play computer games.
