Ok, there is stil a lot of "readycheck - group was no longer viable - readycheck - group was no longer viable" nonsense. Usually it goes on for 5, 6, may be even 10 times in a row. We don't know what is really happening behind the scene and how they are handling queues, and why this is happening. Anyway, the good new is: yesterday during prime time I was able to enter BGs solo consistently, about 10 times in a row, waiting no more than 1-2 minutes between each round.
Later I queued also with some of my friends. We were 2 at first, then 3, then 4. We were able to queue for a battleground in any case and with any group formation, almost without having to wait. Longer queue was with 4 people group, we waited about 5 mins before we were placed in the Battleground
So, even if the situation is still not perfect, it is way better than at release.
I thinks this needed to be reported, because Zos is trying to fix the things, and finally we all are getting some results. So I think it's important to give some feeback and let them know that things are improving and going better.
That said, we all know that BG Queues still miss a lot of important features. I'm pretty sure that Zo's already has a plan regarding future improvements and developments.
Anyway, I think that the most important feature that we need asap, is a way to separate queue for "rookies" and "Veterans".
It is not fun to be placed in a group where two of the fellas playing with you are, say, a level 28 and a level 34 player.
It is not fun for you, and it is not fun for them, because for any experienced BG player they will be just meat to grind in a matter of seconds.
We really need a way to split queues between low level players and maxed out players
My suggestion is: do not split using "below 50 - above 50" thresold. Split instead using "above CP160 - below CP 160" thresold
Many users suggested that BG's queues should be splitted between players below level 50, and above level 50. Yes this could be a way to go, but please consider that any user at, say, CP145, is runinng 99% of the times without a good set, or in the best case scenario, with a good set BUT with subpar gear.
Any vet player that has already crossed the CP160 level, when creates a new toon, as soon as he hit the level 50, goes automatically to his CP level.
So if we think at those people that are in this sort of "limbus" between CP 0 and CP 160, who are they?
- they are players that most likely still learning to play
- they are players that are most likely at their first characther
- they are players that, in 99% of the cases, don't have proper gear.
- they are players that, in any case, have subpar gear (not at maximum level)
Should we place these players with players at max level with optimal gear and optimal builds? No, in my opinion they still belong to the "rookies" realm. That's why, imho, a more meaningful way to split players between "rookies" and "veterans" would be the Cp160 thresold.
Yes, there is no garauntee that a Cp180 player is wearing good equip and it knows how to play, but we can be 100% sure that a CP140 player is not wearing optimal equip (he can't) and so he will be always in a disavantage position versus players wearing gear at maximum level.
