holy mother of libraries, that is dang impressive. I am floored by the attention to detail.
Are you planning to use some of the wooden bookcases they added on the PTS? I love white marble as much as the next altmer, but a bit more material variety might give some of the upper floors some additional character.
Some super good news to counter the struggles you, and all of us, have with the item limits: ZOS notified us that they are updating the Housing API with some incredibly useful functions. More features related to animation, interactivity and even deeper Undo/Redo functionality are just a few of the things that I'll be adding / extending in Essential Housing Tools after this upcoming update. So, that awesome gate that you have, for example, will be able to be lifted automatically with the flip of a switch once I incorporate these upcoming API functions.
Oh, and finally -- thank you for the shout out. I could not be happier that you have found the tool useful!
@Wreuntzylla Ok, so a quick follow up question: How on Nirn did you accomplish this? I have to know... I suspect that this is the precision layout of a circle of rugs to create this border ring; but, for the life of me, I cannot find the seams. Share your wisdom with us, please...

Without the tool, it would probably take 10 retrieves and retries to center round upon round.

Thank you,

This is undouboutedly one of the most wonderful creations I have seen so far in game. I can't begin to fathom how you planned and build all this, it must have taken so much effort! It looks absolutely briliant, like something you could encounter in the game itself, and I'm really amazed you could do all this, given the slot limit. Very inspired work, please keep it up!

@Jaimeh I appreciate the kind words but...
Effort
I spent less work on this iteration than anything previous. I usually have critical comments on just about everything techy, but.... Essential Housing Tools. I literally cannot go back to the manual method now without being frustrated, and if @R_K were to stop supporting it, I'd seek a license... Don't say anything, though, it harms negotiations if the other party knows the value you place on the object of the contract.
Slot Limit
Every single item that came with the island was stripped away (rocks, trees, bushes, flowers, Argonian bartender) and I recently removed some 60 attunement stations, and mundus stones, so that I could give it a finished look. I am still confounded as to why ZoS didn't provide finished edges to the ballroom pieces (while still recognizing it was a huge leap forward by ZoS). I might have been able to add the museum that should be sitting in the front portion of the platform! Or at least keep my attunement stations.
Planning
Without reiterating how little I invented, here are some pictures. Maybe you will see some similarities to existing structures.
When I say both ZoS and I ripped-off history, it's not hyperbole....
Oh, and in my defense, I did not see the representation of Athena's statue in the Parthenon until just now. At least, not recently. Compare the base of the statue to that of Dibella.https://youtu.be/rW3RdNC0qfc
Well maybe the magnitude of one's own project lessens with time and familiarization, but when somebody else sees it for the first time, it's really impressive!Especially because with large structures I find that it's not easy to keep a good perspective on progress, since you can't see the whole thing at once from the top, and the distance and angles of the camera also make it difficult. As for inspiration, I used images found online for some my own projects as well, but the challenge is to create what's in the image with the items available in game, so not always an easy feat, and in the case of the library, I'd say you hit it out of the park!
@Jaimeh Two things... One, totally agree -- this project is fully awesome-sauce. The scale is over the top and you really feel transported to Ancient Greece when you see the structure in person. There are few things of that scale that exist in this game. Two, you can always use my Magic Carpet add-on to see your project from a bird's eye view.
I was actually going to add 'pre-magic carpet days' in parentheses, but didn'tI have yet to try it, I keep forgetting, and then have to build precarious platforms for a vantage point

@Wreuntzylla Noted on the license topic.(But really, I have no intention of discontinuing support for EHT anytime soon -- particularly if people such as yourselves are finding it useful!)

Out of the blue, a guildy in my housing guild offered to make a video, and she uses magic carpet for essentially the first time (give or take a day) while filming it. The video is utterly fantastic, it turned out to look like a professional production. Who knows, maybe it is, I'm not sure if she makes videos for a living! Anyway, if I gain her permission, I will link it here. You will get an immediate feel for how useful magic carpet is.
