Morrowind Upgrade Code Applicable to the ESO Store?

If I buy a digital upgrade code on Amazon using a gift certificate balance, will it work with my current account and the ESO Launcher, or will it only work with a Steam installation (and not with my current installation).
It says "DRM: Steam" on the Amazon page!

Romo✭✭✭✭If you are running an original non-Steam install:
1. A Steam key for the Morrowind expansion will NOT work to update a non-Steam install.
2. To activate an expansion Steam key install, you will have to purchase a new copy of the game from Steam, link it to your current non-Steam install to get your current characters on Steam install of that new copy. Then you can activate the Steam key for the expansion.
3. Amazon and Gamestop only sell Steam keys for the morrowind expansion.
Note: once you do all the gyrations to get Steam key to work, you are stuck loading your game from Steam, which gives you a small to medium hit to lag/ping, depending on your ISP download/upload speed.
Note 2: Apparently, before November of last year you could use Steam key to update a non-steam install, but Steam changed that to the current situation as outlined above. for "reasons".....

Saturnana✭✭✭✭✭If it specifically mentions Steam, then it's probably not going to work with the 'original' ESO launcher.
But you could contact the seller/vendor and check, just to be sure.
