I did some testing...

My red guard (AD) is unplayable due to lag, but my Altmer (DC) (same town and zone -- Rawr) plays just fine. Odd.

Update: I tried my Dunmer (also AD) in Rawr. She played just fine. I am doing my hirings ATM and I am using Rawr as home base. So far, everybody is playing fine except my Red guard.

Update two: I did my hirings. 11 out of 12 chars played fine. I notice in zone chat however, there still many complaints about bad lag.

I have 63 ping on PC/NA right now. Maybe you should check to see if your service provider is bottlenecked somewhere.

It mostly let up about 30 mins ago, but it's not just me so that's just silly. It was literally all of Rawl'kha on AD, and a lot of people in my various guilds.

But it's back now, off and on.

Yeah.... it's definitely back with a vengeance. Took me a good minute to exit the Rawl'kha bank.

The people that it let up for, at various points, were after either getting kicked out or relogging. Lots of people still complaining about it in guild chats. There's a group doing some trial that keeps wiping because of the lag even.

I'm gonna go find something else to do until this lets up.

After running a speed test, I'm inclined to believe that it's my ISP and not the game. I usually pull 125MB down and was getting 3mb.... COMCAST NOT FTW.....

Its certain zones Stonesfalls seems to be bad deshann is not doing it at all. So I think its certain zones in the game. Also coldhabour and greenshade can't be accessed they give infinate loading screens. So yes they do have to at least give an emergency maintenance or a hot fix for this as soon as they can.

It could be some major internet backbone having issues, but I definitely don't have Comcast.

Question: is there anyway to do a trace ping or a chat of internet traffic to see the issue that way (ie an overhead view)? From my PC to ZOS Server.

You can type tracert into command prompt along with whatever the ZOS server is, but I don't know what PC/NA's server IP's or hostnames are.

Example:

tracert 198.20.200.26

From Reddit:

1) Start Task Manager
2) Performance tab
3) Resource Monitor
4) Network tab
5) Screen by ESO.exe

There are usually 2 IP's that I stay connected to during play sessions.
198.20.200.26 and 198.20.200.30

If the game is running, I believe one can use Windows' "resource monitor "-- network view to see what programs going to waht IP / server name.

Rawl'kha AD NA / PC has crazy ping spikes for me, and just got disconnected. Speedof.me and pingtest.net both report my latency at < 40ms right now, so I don't think it's my ISP (Comcast).

Also NA AD and having crazy lag spikes. Not only in Rawl, but in instances in Cradle of Shadows (normal) as well. Dunmer sorc for bug fixing reference. I was having a wierd issues where I could use my abilities just fine (occasionally) but it won't let me use doors. And then other times I just stop.

been trying to load the At-Himah Estate for the last fifteen mins or so.

waited/waited/waitedx10, no luck.

shut down, relogged, and am waiting/waiting/waitingx10 again.

i'm thinking this might be broken, as i've had no problem doing other content this am, once i got out of reapers march with its insane lag and 13k+ pings.

still not into the estate, fwiw, so i suppose it's time to go try something else.

Ayup. I'm trying to log into my newbies to feed their mounts, aaaaaand:

I've been kicked off twice.
The highest ping I've had thus far was over 10,000.
I saw some people with some armour I've never seen before, and they disappeared before the game acknowledged that I wanted to brighten the area with Almalexia's Lantern for a better look.

Some people on zone are also complaining about it, though I have seen some reports on zone that it seems to be working on reloading the UI.

EDIT to add: this is on NA; I'll check on EU in a sec.

Double EDIT: EU has some lag spikes, but for the most part ping doesn't go far above 100 for me. It does have some long loading screens, but it always does for me on the first boot of the game after a patch, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ok so logging out sometimes helps but when you go into a new zone or building it might happen again. To me that says there is a bad server and when you log in or change zones you have a chance of hitting that server or hitting a good one.
