Why this game is so bad.

Having played MMO's since Ragnarok Online, I'm not surprised to see yet another "this game sucks because I'm at the level cap and I have nothing to do now"-ish thread complete with the customary pvp whining. I've made a number of these threads over the years, so I'm not dogging the OP or those who share his sentiments that much. I've been there.
I'll be the first to admit, I get bored after I reach the level cap. I don't like running infinite end game quests and only occasionally pvp, so when I reach the cap I make a new toon. I pick a new class and try something different. This kept me playing several mmos for a very long time. I did eventually quit playing all of those games but I never once experienced perfection, a total lack of frustration, no lag, total ownage in pvp. I have dealt with many, many bugs and issues over the years with both my machines and the games themselves.
The staff is working on the problems and must work on them in a schedule. This means that the development staff must work on a prioritization schedule that addresses what they need to keep going financially, keep the game functioning, keep players interested, and new ways to draw in new players as they can with their work schedule. The process is actually pretty long and is in constant motion as development for pretty much every MMO is ongoing by necessity. New content must be developed and generated for the long term prospects of the game. ZOS has to develop new content if they are going to attract new players or keep current subscribers. While bugs and complaints must be addressed for both of those, development of new content can take precedence over either.
Finance, however, takes the highest priority because the game would not stay online if they did not make it the foremost priority. So yes, if the staff had a bug that caused them to directly lose money, that would move to the top of the priority list. The game exists to make money. The company exists to make money. Claiming that ZOS is more interested in money than keeping every player is a declaration of the obvious. You're not making any point stating it.

I think your missing 2 big positives about eso....1...it was a great hyped let down to hold us out until Destiny....I got my $60 out of game but the monthly sub of 4 months did not justify another $60. Was or is this game worth $120....no way. Is or was the game worth $60 barely. But I timed my subs just right.

    2. I can at least feel I am getting something for my money by venting and trolling the forums...which is the best part of eso post lvl 50.

Because comparing a video game to a cancer causing, highly addictive, life threatening substance is just like comparing Charles Manson to Bozo the Clown.

It's overdoing things more than a wee bit for no good reason.

We get it, you're not happy with the game. Please, do us all AND yourself a favor and just move on?

You know its funny. I'm looking through the forums and there seems to not be a SINGLE post on why eso is great. I would love to see some of the people here defending it create one. hahahaha what am I saying. they know better.

good god.......another one.........sigh....here we go......its about ignoring information passed down by people just because someone who disagrees with them tells you to do the opposite. The product is defective. period. and all your hate for people who post awareness isn't going to change that fact.

So he tells someone to try it out for themselves. lets say they do and turns out they hate it too. do they get their money back? nope. but then does he care or have any responsibility? nope.

Is the light starting to brighten? or do you require additional assistance?

The product rocks. Are you leaving or just trolling?

People are more apt to complain than extol. The fact there are more complaint threads comes as no surprise.

hahaha and yet you continually tolerate and even see this as acceptable. the end game in this is cyrodiil. and its broken. its completely broken. ZoS continually pushes out patches with known bugs. that's a fact. Why is it ok for a company to completely ignore the group of people who have already paid them in order to sign up new people to ignore when they complain about their broken product? Why do people tolerate this?

I wonder how many thousands of subs ZoS lost because of all these issues? they could care less. why? because they don't have to refund anyones money. By not addressing these game breaking issues ZoS is saying, "who cares if you quit. bye. thanks for the cash." while they power on to rob new people.

Why doesn't anyone else see the benefit in standing in front of the ZOS theft train and telling people not to sign up? By choking their profits on the front end it forces them to push the brakes and address the profit bleeding on the back end by fixing the game.

current player base preventing new player base from paying + current player base unsubbing and expressing the issues = ZOS having to take responsibility and fix things or quit.

all that has been happening over the last 5 months is a weeding. the players who care are being weeded out and only the ones who are extremely tolerant remain. The funny part is once the majority have left (already well on its way) and the console version (which has already been pushed back several months) bombs. this will turn ftp. and all the supporters are going to be standing around crying about how the game is ruined

Yes rage more. What happened, got owned in PVP 100x over and blame it on lag? How can so many of us play and you can not? What MMO is perfect ---- without even considering that this game has only been out since April (or very very end of March with early access)? What MMO is perfect after 10 years? NONE. There will always be problems, and ZOS team work on each issue and sometimes (if you knew anything about programming) other issues that would seem unrelated can sprout up from fixing different ones.

No game is perfect, but this is right now my favorite MMO to play. List an MMO I most likely played it, including Archeage, Wildstar, etc..

Apparently this game is not for you OP. So with that, take care!

So you missed out 2/3 of the pve content because you choose to go and grind and yet still feel qualified to comment. No wonder you had a bad experience it seems to me you skipped 66% of the vet content and decided instead to run in a big group from place to place. Not my idea of fun or yours by the tone of your comment but for some reason you choose to do it.
I on the other hand have not done any grinding unless you count the achievements I've been doing lately while I wait for the next update. You claim that 15 minutes is the average trial time it's not.
If the drops there were so terrible pieces wouldn't have been selling for 100k when they were boe.
Pvp been doing a bit lately as I want razor caltrops on my bar. I've ran with a few of the good pvp players. However there tactics were not my cup of tea. So I decided to get a small group and engage in some guerrilla tactics taking resources around keeps to make the opposition think it was about to be attacked. The only bug I encountered lately was the weapon swap visually bugging out.
Although undeniably some ppl are having more serious ones but it's to be expected in a relatively young mmo. So this is the only point you have made that while I agree does happen should not be unexpected.
In short Zeni. Gave you the freedom to play the way you wanted you did the opposite and then made a QQ thread.

I don't see it as acceptable, but I do tolerate it because it is a limitation of the system itself. Prioritization causes most of those problems to occur, because the staff can't, frankly, fix everything at once. Gradual bug fixes are a reality and a necessity. Complaining about the slow process will not necessarily make it go faster.

They care because they lose money when people unsubscribe. By necessity, they will have to address the issues with the game. and all of this is fine and dandy but why are we getting company release statements saying issues have been fixed when they are not. These are some really shady business practices.

Isn't the beta stage of development exist to iron out the major bugs in the software? isn't that why companies test updates and patches before releasing them?

Why are we being charged to beta test their stuff? unacceptable.

Sorry Vatter, but a fairly poor post.
You called PVP unplayable due to reasons that barley exist for many people, and suggested cooldowns. This is ridiculous, none of the reaons for being "unplayable actually make it "unplayable" unless u are running a macbook from 2002 on college wifi. Not having cooldowns is one of the unique properties of the game that allows for some very interesting builds, and something that many really like. You also suggested that many things hit u for 1k+ damage, and made it seem like its common and everybody just dies constantly unless you are a vamp, Dk, or templar, or impulse zerg group. Vamp is not OP in any way, it just gets more nerfed and is a huge disadvantage. I duel with many of the top guys and more and more abandon vampire. Few are actually hit for 1k+ unless hit by a critical strike, or mark target NB, plus there are damage shields and mitigations easy, plus self heals. Templar is not an overpowered class at all. DK's are superior in most cases, but ive kiled so many 1v2 with a sorc using a resto staff(they were v12). Sword and board is superior imo, but not essential.
Next, the trials actually take a very coordinated effort to complete, and even top groups can fail if they do not coordinate correctly. They are not zergfests like it may seem from this post, there is a lot of strategy and effort involved in getting to the top.
Vet levels suck, this is true.

    Hello everyone.

We encourage sharing your thoughts and experience about the game even if it is negative. Feedback, when constructive, is always welcome, valued and considered a driving force for the decisions that we make to improve the game.

We appreciate that you took the time to do so, however the discussion has gone into a direction that is not constructive despite our earlier attempt to refocus the thread.

We are therefore closing this thread. Thank you for understanding.
