mouse not gaining focus correctly

so after looting an item or looking at the map, my mouse continues to stay in "HUD view" where I can move the mouse cursor around, but I don't want that - it should move my character- after a few clicks or seconds it auto fixes it self - this didn't occur in beta? any one else experiencing this? I don't think I'm playing any differently - any workarounds?

Make a few more attempts of it and see what happens if the problem is still there message back on here the steps you took and I will attempt it and if I get the same issue then it may be a bug.

i got the exact same problem, and its a real bother having to press random buttons just to regain control of ur character. especially when u have to look at the map or in ur bags once every few minutes. tried deactivating one of my monitors cuz i thought that would fix it. but it did not.

I'll play for a while with no issue but then I get the exact same problem, loot something or go to map, and the mouse stays in cursor mode. It won't revert back to look/directional mode until I hit one of the directional keys (WASD). Like I said, it doesn't happen initially after login but does eventually revert to the problem. It was just happening to me. Logging out then back in resolved it for now.

yes, it appears the issue comes and goes. Not sure what causes it. But it appears to get resolved by itself after some time - other times relogging seems to be workaround.

I've had moments where this occurred to me. I've always been able to snap it out of HUD view by taking a step forward or backward using the W or S keys.

Yeah, it has happened to me, too, but usually I'm juggling several tasks on the computer at once in and out of game anyway so it's not the worst of my problems, lol.

This has been happening randomly with my husband and I too. I have been having the issue since beta and was hoping they would have fixed it by now. Logging out and then back in seems to fix it temporarily.

Reloading the gui resolves it temporarily as well.

The period key '.' should toggle the mouse mode as well.

It's not an issue of toggling the mouse mode off. It's the fact that it shouldn't be going into mouse mode. Logging out/in or reloading the gui stops it from activating mouse mode after looting or looking at the map (or whatever), at least until it starts doing it again.

Yeah happens to me as well. Just pressing . To leave mouse mode fixes it, but it is still annoying.

Chiming in. happening to me, too; though it didn't in beta. Started with only one character and only when riding my horse and opening and closing the map--all of a sudden I couldn't turn (use mouse for direction) just aswd worked until I stopped, opened any window, didn't matter which, and then closed it again. but opening a window while moving glitched the mouse.

Now, it is like most of what I read above. Opening any window at any time will either glitch the mouse until I use aswd or completely freeze the character until I open something else or reload ui. I have lost control of a character once during battle and I had to open and close a window to get the targeting back.

And unfortunately, it can be random. Some times it doesn't appear at all.

As an aside: I use a wireless mouse plugged into a wired Logitech G11 keyboard, if that is relevant.
