Screenshots not saving

I've tried everything I could think of:

-reset key bindings to default
-assign a different key
-run launcher repair to verify files

I know the file directory and it's the same as it's always been before so I'm just stumped on what's going on lol.

I’m having this same issue ever since the DLC launch! At first I thought I must have hit the wrong key or even that it was broken on my keyboard but no, it even displays the message saying where the screenshot has been saved but it is simply not there. There are no screenshots in the folder created after November 2nd.

This is happening to me as well. The message displays on-screen that the screenshot was saved to the folder like it always has before, but there is no new image in the folder when I go to the folder itself. I take screenshots regularly in the game so I know it was working fine the day before the update went out.

I can confirm that friends of mine are not having this issue after the update so I'm not sure what is causing the issue for some, but not for others.

Surprisingly, it may be your antivirus software! Why it should cause problems now and not before and even with screenshots is beyond me, but it has worked!

I have Avast and, at a recommendation from a guildie as to fix the problem with the accept outdated add-ons not sticking, I added the whole ESO program folder as an exception (not even where the screenshots are saved to) and that fixed the add-on problem. I tried taking a screenshot just to see and it appeared in my screenshot folder as it should!

I tried the antivirus suggestion but has not worked for me (I added the whole of the elder scrolls folder on my pc as an exception in avast)

this does seem to be tied to the new dlc (no surprises really as each new dlc seems to be bundled with a new issue each time) - can we report this to zos? Can we report it in game?

Just checked & last successful screen shot taken was Nov 3rd 2020

EDIT: I got it working but it required me to use cmd line to remove the "read only" attribute from my screenshots folder after disabling my antivirus for 10 mins

Hello,

since the update, I can no longer take a screenshot.
I had this bug before and it was fixed when we all had to reinstall the game a few months ago.
Please correct this thing that affects a lot of players.

while waiting (4 years like the last time maybe) I use Fraps which I target in the .... /live/screenshots folder.

I am also having the same issue. It started yesterday after the patch. I took some screenshots on Sunday and was even able to upload them to discord. But today they just say that they are saving to the live folder as always but there is nothing there!! This has to be fixed ASAP. Officers need this for proof of things going on in-game and chat. Please address ASAP

So the help is we are directed to necro this thread then is it *facepaw...

Everything was fine until I enabled multi threading then suddenly my screenshots are saving as ESO blah blah blah in the bloody Zenimax folder where the eso64.exe is o.O

Got rid of reshade and now the screenshots are going just.. nowhere at all... well to my clipboard and yes thanks opening a paint program to paste my screenshots is just what I want to do *sigh*

The screenshot issues go back to launch and the screenshot answers from customer service I've found on reddit and other sites are just not cool.

Someone there at ZoS must know how to fix this situation...?

You solved it, though - well done.

I doubt if zos will reward your insight, though.

It is unambiguously the mulithreaded rendering that is causing loss of screenshot capability something which two minutes of regression testing should have identified.

Players can either have experimental faster rendering - which should've been implemented years ago - or you can have screenshots.

Currently you can't have both.

again, following the update and release of Deathlands, there is no longer a way to have the screenshots I take in the game. And again I am not the only one to have this well-known and recurring problem.
How is it possible to solve a problem and put it back with each new addition of content?
Please take the time to correct this thing.

I also use FRAPS to take screenshots since multithreading killed the native ability.

I set FRAPS to use F7 as the hotkey and I get BMP file outputs.

If ZoS fixes the native screenshot ability, I hope they can make it a user assignable key.
