Zenimax, Fix The Leaderboards - VDSA Exploits

Can we please fix this sooner rather than later, before Tamriel Unlimited?

This is becoming a joke, that the fact leaderboards are being exploited with no punishment patch after patch after patch, ruining the want to even play your content, you are show casing exploits, they are not being fixed, and being left in the game every single patch RUINING any type of competitive play, ever since 1.5 there has been a damn exploit. We left hacked scores on the leaderboards and didn't wipe them for a whole patch and now are we doing the same for VDSA?

In case you are still unaware of the threads that have already been posted which I have also been reporting the issue and tagging mods in, you can scale down VDSA and still get onto the leaderboards with all the enemies being CP10, just take a look at the EU Megaserver, https://esoleaderboards.com/trial_sample.php?trial=dsa do you expect that 2 people can clear VDSA in less than 50minutes?

Come on Zenimax, it's time to enforce the rules, and fix up leaderboards, I am personally as many others are sick and tired of having these exploited scores plastered all over

This was reported over 2 weeks ago and still has not been fixed.

Hope it will be fixed as fast as possible, but I guess many people are going to get free weekly rewards this time

Erase the scores, and make it a requirement that the content is scaled to CP160 for any type of leaderboard competition or tough achievement unlocks.

People use the same method to downscale Vet Ruins of Mazzatun and Vet Cradle of Shadows. The Amberplasm/Spiderkith Skins mean very little now in terms of genuine accomplishment.

No. Pvp leaderboards drop golden gear for top players at the end of the campaign and as #1 in your alliance you can become an emperor, but in pve score doesnt give you anything special.
Its just a part of leaderboards competition... And exploiters ruin it.

Idk if that's the right course of action - some of them might have been doing practice scaled runs, and getting on the leaderboards was a buggy side effect rather than a goal.

I know that that's what i'd be doing if i was training for Vdsa. Normal mode is a joke in comparison with vet, at least judging by other trials.

Obviously though, that kind of runs should not be on leaderboards.

Fighting e.g. level 37 (or level 10) mobs and getting a score is not "just downscaled". You need to perform certain actions (which are known by many people as it has been working on dungeons at least since IC was released). And believe me, the difference between 10cp and 160cp isn't big enough for those scores to happen in a training run.

I don't have a problem with downscaling for farm status, but you shouldn't be getting on the leader boards. They need a lvl check.

Non priority compared to other things that could be worked on.

If being on the leaderboards meant a valuable item being awarded then I suppose it should be top of the priority list but as it stands the only thing that this is hurting is a couple people's egos.

I'm not supporting these players actions but this should not be a bannable offense and does need to be fixed eventually.

If it's the weekly thing where being on the leaderboards DOES send you something... it definitely matters. People getting on the leaders by exploiting takes up spots where no reasonable non-exploiting group would be able to place, since they can't beat their scores.

The closest I've ever been to leaderboards was in a dream once, but I definitely think this does need to be dealt with.

I may not always be good enough to get on leaderboards, but I have my pride, and I refuse to have ANY score lower than cheaters. Better players are fine by me and deserve their spot though, so I think this needs to be dealt with swiftly and justly.

I believe it is for weeklies and to ruin leaderboards
for once I just want a patch without any exploited scores, I dont think we have had a patch where this has been the case

I really dislike exploited scores on leaderboards.

It puts big tension between the competitive players and the general population of players, making many people suspicious of the competitive players.


On the bright side, the cheaters still lose. I remember when @Nifty2g beat the top Templar vMA score, which had been set by someone using CE.

And, unless there's been a new high score, the NA PC vDSA top score was set legitimately.

When i saw these two guys yesterday in EU leaderboard i really get angry...

We talked about this downscaling *** with ZOS at gamescom taverne (DSA was weekly and the first thread about it started). They said: Yes we know, we will fix it immediately blablabla permaban blablabla

Nothing happens... Waiting for next major update

Just egos, huh?
Well, I suppose, there's a lot of hate against people who play competitively. But the way ZOS handles exploiting and cheating affects much more than just those people. Remember the survey exploit? Some cheaters got a 3 days ban, and kept their duped mats. Most of them werent even banned or warned. Or cheat engine controversy? Again, many cheaters werent punished for this at all, and those who got "permabans" just qqed to support and got their accounts restored.
This is why exploiting and cheating is so blatant these days. This is why its important to stop it.
And saying that its a minor issue is just ignorant.

I do agree something should happen, it is obvious exploiting. Who goes into VDSA as 2 people and burn down the bosses, only people who are intending to exploit leaderboards and expect to get away with it because who cares about the boards

And even though this issue only affects a small % of the population, this situation shows that exploiting is fine, and encourages more stuff like this... Including pvp-related things, item duping and god knows what else.
