Wisps

Fat-Larry-Makes-All
Whoever came up with the idea to add these suckers to Elder Scrolss must be an avid hater of fun. They're not fun to fight, they're not fun to kill and they're definitely not fun to get killed by. Kind of like real life wasps. Sithis take all Wisps, and their mothers.

Just discovered Snapleg Cave in the Rift. Went in, saw a wisp and I was like "nope".

That sounds like successful mob design to me.

I've always appreciated that in the ES games. There were some mobs that I would avoid if given the chance at all. Like the Falmer and their little bugs in Skyrim.

Wisps are certainly annoying. But no more so than bankins, scamps, spiders, etc. Wisps do add a bit more challenge when trying to kill the wispmother.

They're nowhere and I mean NOWHERE (it does warrant caps tbh) as bad as they were or ice wraiths were in Skyrim when you were a ranged character. In fact, they're a breeze compared to their Skyrim counterparts.

Yeah, I don't like them either^^ I can fight them, but I have issues recognizing their distance to me, even though I'm in 3rd person most of the time. Very confusing sometimes.

Really? I mean i get elemental essence too, but it seems like I'm much, much more likely to get drops of various two-handed weapons from them. In fact, I don't think I've ever had a piece of equipment drop from a wisp that wasn't a two-handed weapon of some sort. Daggers I could maybe understand, or even boots, but where the hell are they putting all of these massive weapons?

Well, I just think that a game that has a few mobs that you dread fighting is a good thing. If every time you saw a mob the reaction was the same, that would get boring. If you have mobs that are relatively straighforward and others that you'd rather avoid, that ads variety.

then i definitely recommend you do NOT play the Secret World, wisps there upon death ... respawn, right at the spot, talk about annoying.
in this game, i dont see what the problem is, theyre a joke? Just slap em silly? Do no damage only skill they use is a 1 meter radius aoe when near death that dont hurt at all even if you somehow get caught in it ...

    really?

im not the one to go l2p and troll alot and go "haha" simpsons style but really, ... l2p for crying out loud ... wisps??? lmao

    now THAT is annoying

I solo'd a VR11 group delve in Craglorn as a VR9 yesterday that was filled with wisps. It was a great challenge, took a while but was pretty awesome. Best piece of advice I can give you is to just burn down the wisp mother as fast as possible. Try to get her before she starts going crazy and it's not all that hard, but if you focus too much on the Ads you'll have a nightmare of a time.

Went to The Chilled Hollow in Eastmarch in Cadwell's Silver by myself, hated it but accepted the challenge. Soloed 1 Wispmother and ignored the rest. The wisps were paltry in comparison.

P.S. Was super relieved the named enemy was just a Frost Atronach. Was going to sh*t bricks if it was a Wispmother.
