So I had this idea that I decided to share with my guild and after a very interesting conversation, we decided I should post this on the forums and see where it goes. Please let me know if this sounds like something that you would enjoy, and maybe we could see it in a future update!

So the idea is, what if you could align with one of the Daedric Princes or one of the other gods within ESO? By that, I mean you could make a deal with them and gain a new skill line and boon. We have all seen followers of Stendarr and Meridia, even mad men of Sheogorath, but why not join their ranks as a player?

As an example, im going to use Sheogorath. To align with him, you would have to make a deal with him where you lost your sanity and be marked as insane, but you could gain a skill line for him with skills that only a mad man would find useful. Perhaps you could gain unqiue dialogue, like the intimidate or persuade, but instead it would be insanity talking. You could use new dialogue with NPCs that only insane people would say. For an active ability or ultimate, you could perhaps use Wabbajack to transform your enemy into something more amusing.

The possibilities are endless, and this is but one I have thought about. There are many more Daedric princes and even the divines, all of which could offer something unique and fun to the PvE environment. This would also add to the role playing element of the game, because deep down, we all have some desire to serve our favorite deadric prince as they spread chaos through Nirn, or even fight that chaos by serving one if the Eight Divines.

Posted something of the sort a while ago...

"However, there could easily be other group skill lines available for all. How about... religion? We have eight Divines, and some Daedric Princes... each could get a fan grou... eh, I mean, clergy, with assorted skill and passives line...

There could even be class limitations for following divine or demonic powers. Like, Vamires should be incapable of choosing any (just play their initiation quest as to why), while Werewolves kinda choose Hircine already, Templars can only join Divine (since they obviously use aedric magic), Sorcerors can only join Daedric (that dark magic and daedra summoning is a bit of a giveaway...), DKs and NBs can do what they want... and of course, only one power could be choosen to follow (but you can leave one and join another, though the respec would cost...). "

Naturally I would love to see that sort of thing. Done similar to the vampire/werewolf stuff... Let my characters follow their choosen powers!

Also, each power could have their own daily quests to do all over tamriel, to give people more options how to spend their time, and more flavor in their game...

Agreed. We need more options like this for world skill lines. It would add a lot of gameplay value.

This idea is awesome. As someone else said that I think needs reiteration, can only choose one and your choice of vampire/werewolf/normal should limit your choices. Maybe the abilities you gain should not be combat related (so as to avoid the sorts of imbalances vampirism introduced).

That sounds like a fun way to continue to develop our characters. And as a couple of people pointed out, we have an existing precedent for this type of game mechanic with werewolves. Praise Hircine! Maybe they could roll in some werewolf improvements to let players stay in form longer.

I would not like to see the choice limited by class, though.

This has been brought up before, and it's one of the few really good player-generated ideas. I'm hoping that the divines/daedric princes will eventually have quest-lines and skills associated with them.

So basically it would be a fourth alliance. Maybe for pvp have this based in cyrodil and all three factions would be sieging you. That would be insaine

I'm always supportive of these and similar ideas. Here is a small bit of the thoughts I have on the subject

What would be really awesome is to have both an Aedric and Daedric version of these.

I suggested some time ago that they should make a world skill line 'priest/cultist.' This would be a skill line that would change based on which Devine entity you chose to follow. The line would have two or three active abilities, and a few pasives.

Just a few examples of how I could see each different skill line working:

    Clavicus Vile:

    *Loaded deal
    -active
-restores X majica or stamina (whichever base value is higher). After a delay, drains X of resource not restored and/or damages health. (Chance to apply regen debuff?)
Maybe a bit to much like spell symetry, but it would fit with his aspect.

    *Twisted boon
    -active
-Grants an increase in primary damage stats for X seconds. After X seconds applies an equivalent (or lesser) debuff for X seconds. Or damages regens. Or reduces resistance values.
Also in line with his aspect. A gift, later made curse.

    *Fair trade
    -passive
-Increases one value for a penalty in another. It could be something like a base stat exchange. Or it could be a damage bonus that Penalizes a stat, or even loot and rng. (You complete faster, but your loot may not be as good. Or, random procs may not be as frequent.)
I would love to be able to chose the bonus and penalty, but that could be tricky...

    *Soulsnare
    -passive
-killing an enemy sacrifices it's soul to Vile. Grants % regen. Stacks X times. Based off N'Gasta, the Sload Necromancer of Stros M'kai.

Clavicus Vile's skill tree centers around bonuses in exchange for penalties.

    Kynareth:

    *Blessing of the winds
    -active, sustained
-Grants armor, spell resist, and movement speed. (Bonus miss chance? Increased block mitigation?) Costs X magica per second or reserves X amount.
Maybe a bit too similar to lightning form...

    *Kyne's sorrow.
    -active, aoe
-damages enemies and heals allies within its radius. (Proportional to number of enemies/allies inside?)

    *Blessing of the traveler
    -passive
    -increases stamina regeneration.

    *Bastion of nature
-successful blocks/dodge/miss grant a pbaoe for X seconds. Stacks up to five times. Deals X dps. (Or maybe increased health regen/ heals)

So, a bit based around tanking.

Really just throwing things out there, but maybe something will stick.
This one has an eloquent and well thought out response to tha... Ooh sweetroll!

I don't see how it creates a fourth alliance. There are devotees to all the different deities in each alliance.

I wish the game had moral choices Do you want to

    a)kill this person or

    B)banish them or

c)join them and be evil together..

Of course that would open up all sorts of story lines...

In the form of a Worshiper line, I love the idea! Special motifs, buffs, maybe a small quest line... bonuses for questing with others of the same religion.... debuffs / negative consequences so it's not just all roses and lolipops.

    Good stuff.
