Coldharbour Filled with BOTS today!

I have a character I'm currently running around in Coldharbor with questing my way toward that happy encounter with Mr. BigBad and couldn't help but notice the abundance of level 2 bots in groups of six or eight scurrying about, running in midair, popping up from the ground, swarming just about every enemy and resource available. Keep in mind, this is the high level Coldharbour area, not the solo main quest areas. This bot problem is getting out of control. I know this type of gold and resource farming has plagued MMOs for some time, but I have never seen the likes of what I witnessed this morning. I quit my game hoping that my "report player" efforts will somehow make a difference, and thought I'd post my experience in this forum for the record. This type of behavior, if unresolved, is for me one that I'm sure will make me hesitant to renew my subscription to ESO.

It will be sad for this otherwise great game to go down in flames. Devs and gm's need to get this nonsense straightened out.

For me the bots are a major aggravation. I did Cryptwatch Fort with two of my characters today. Both times the dungeon was filled with between 15-20 alphabet names characters running around killing everything in sight. I have observed bots in other areas killing mobs, stealing nodes, etc. I really like this game but unless something is done about them soon, I am not sure I will be staying around. That is a shame because the game appears to have lots of promise otherwise.

Quit aswell, tired of using playtime to file report after report after report and to top it off, some more reports, first at least got some automated response mails but not even that anymore.
Make a difference? Not at all, bots still owning the place, they can have eso, i go look someplace else.

And to think they could at least bandaid fix much of the problem by just requring all new characters to go through the prison tutorial (like it was in beta), which most of these bots are not going to do. At least until/if they can write a program to run the entire tutorial.

The Coldharbour problem could be mostly temp fixed by requiring say level 30 to travel there.

Would some people QQ about that, sure. Would it be worse than having thousands of level 2 and 3 bots, which can be script created in seconds?

    Probably not.

Instead, weeks pass while the problem gets worse. And while I am sure ZOS is busting butt trying to solve it I bet subs are being lost.

I also see a lot of flying bots these days. They are everywhere. They just walk in the air so that nobody can report them.

I saw like 15-30 bots on one spot in Riften the other day running around, when one bot left the place I was on a new bot came in. It was like they was changing shifts. One leave, a new join the others and just repeat everything.
Me and another dude stood there for like 20 min reporting all bots that got there. There was to many of them tho, so we couldn't report everyone since it came new bots over and over again.

Tbh the only reason there are bots is because people campaigned for this game to be made into an open world non-themepark (I won't use the term sandbox) like the other tes games where you can progress through the game how you want but we didn't get that, what we got is a theme park MMO without level restrictions to what areas you can go or quests you can pick up which is still more and less useless to the legit players because they can't really progress in these areas but botters can take advantage of it.

What would be the lesser of two evils is to make the game more theme park by introducing level caps to areas, yes it would take the novelty away of being able to go to these areas before you've reached a certain level however the game obviously wasn't designed to be fully open world but just had these features patched in to shut up the critics about this being a cookie cutter MMO, the status quo doesn't change how you progress through the game all it's doing is creating an avenue for botters to exploit.

Over the weekend I saw large numbers of alphabet soup, speed hacking, flying bots in Library of Dusk in Coldharbour. I reported several of them and even witnessed many of them complete the quest and go from level 3 to level 4.

    Please watch that spot, thanks.

Loads of Vr1 Bot Trains in there today... So annoying. The legit players must have been outnumbered 10 to 1 in there

Thread Necromancy! Something must be done about this.

Aha, I know just the thing to put an end to this foul necromancer.

There's another thread on bots going on right now so I won't bother repeating everything I said there but the only reason botting still happens is because people are still lazy and willing to pay real money for the benefits from it. Shady people and lazy people with money will always exist... but I agree it's quite bad in some places. *shrug*
