That was the second biggest complaint, the biggest was a lack of General Discussion which they have added, and Suggestion forum which they haven't.Arsenic_Touch wrote: »Still no filter for other languages. That's bad juju. That was single most complaint about the forum format.
We'll be happy to explain it in some more detail! The first and most apparent change is that there is now a General Discussion forum for all three supported languages (English, German, and French).Agreed. Perhaps we could be told if anything else has changed, because if it has it isn't obvious!

- Still seeing pointless french/german forums, completely clogging the view
- Unable to see sub forums unless you enter a main forum
- Completely pointless sub forums or they are in the wrong location
- Non existing "roleplaying" forums. Where are the race forums?
- What is wrong with the standard line by line main/sub forum layout that *everyone* use today. Its good design, it make sense and we are used to it. Your forum that consist of a wierd box layout is however very bad and very confusing.
The features are decent (vote options, saving drafts, etc) but the overall design remain horrible. What's going to happen when the console version release? Are we going to have to look through 50 darn boxes before finding the right forums?
How the layout somewhat loosely imagined should be:
- News/Information mainforum
--- Developer/interviews/etc subforums
- Support mainforum
--- PC/console/Mac technical support subforum
- General/main mainforum
--- PvE subforum
--- Cyrodiil subforum
--- --- Aldmeri/Daggerfall/Pact subforums
--- Players helping players subforum
--- Guilds subforum
--- Crafting subforum
- Lore mainforum
--- Story subforum
--- Race subforums (one subforum for each race)
- Community mainforum
--- Addons subforum
--- Community creations subforum
--- Offtopic subforum
- German mainforum (with all subforums as above)
- French mainforum (with all subforums as above)
- Archived mainforums (if you ever create temporary forums for event things)

Some forums arent meant to have high traffic but they exist nonetheless. Look at GW2. They have 43 forums (!!!) and 28 archived forums. And it still make a hell of alot more sense than the ESO forum because its simple top to bottom layout with main titles on forum and then subforums. Such as "Game Discussion" containing GW2 discussion, helping players, crafting, auction house, dungeons and audio (for some reason) subforums.wrlifeboil wrote: »Too many sub-forums => low traffic => dead forums. I hope that the ZOS forum mods don't fall into that trap.
Bah have to edit because the forums doesn't like "= / =" without spaces. :Pron.spark79_ESO wrote: »my thoughts on the new forums are this.instead of making the forums easier to use why don't you fix the problems that you already have such as billing body and bug quests.? it seems to me that a little common sense would dictate that the big problems be handled first

You do realize that the people that work the forums have nothing to do with the billing issues or bugged quests, right? so how do you expect them to address them?

Ron, a forums/web design team is not the same team that works game design, programming or development in most cases. To use a terrible analogy you're asking why a plumber can't fix the gearbox in your car.
So many edits because of fail this morning... I need coffee.
Possibly not quite managerial(for most things), but they probably email issues they find to the relevant team of devs.ron.spark79_ESO wrote: »I do realize this but since customer service has decided to not do anything I figure there has to be inter office communication between web and game developers even if its on the managerial level.
Even if nothing else has changed yet, thank you sweet Jesus for a general discussion forum.

I agree with others about an option to only see forum categories for one language. Also the mobile site still has a blank homepage for me (Google Chrome on Android 4.4).
