It seems all add-on websites for Mac list the path to put the add-on folder as:
Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/addons

I installed the client during the final beta/load test, and no matter how much finder searching I do, I don't see that particular path on my computer at all.

The ONLY area of folders filled with anything seems to be:
applications/ZeniMax Online/The Elder Scrolls Online/(and here there are folders called "depot", "game_mac", and "vo_en".

I initially tried putting an Addons folder in this general folder, then I tried dropping it in the various sub-folders. None work (in terms of having the add-ons show up).

There is absolutely nothing in my documents folder from ESO.

I *do* have two drives.. an SSD system drive and a regular HD storage drive. The game files live on my storage drive. There is a ZeniMax Online folder in my applications folder of my boot drive, but it only contains the Launcher.

Anyone else run into this problem? Anyone have an idea that might allow me to find the proper path? Game runs perfectly in every aspect, so I KNOW this folder should fit somewhere!

Thanks for any advice.

It absolutely has to be under the documents path, not the game install path. The 'addon' folder may not be there (in the documents path) so you may have to create it, but otherwise the rest of the path should be there.

    ~/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/

I have no Elder Scrolls Online folder of any kind in my documents folder anywhere. I've tried every advanced search I can think of to find it or see if it's hidden or whatnot. What other folders would be there with the AddOns folder? Is it possible that I have to create the entire folder sequence from scratch (that is, the one you list at the end if your post)?

Try taking a screenshot ingame. That should create Elder Scrolls Online/live/Screenshots in the proper location. Then you can create an Addons folder there if necessary.

As soon as I was told what other folders should be in the /documents/elder scrolls online/ folder, I did just that. What happens is every time I try to take a screenshot, the game crashes.

I thought it had something to do with my pathways when I first installed, so I uninstalled and reinstalled, but same outcome -- I have absolutely no "Elder Scrolls Online" folder ANYWHERE on my computer. It's... baffling! I wonder if every time I try to do anything that would reference one of the folders in that ESO folder, it crashes. I do seem to crash at weirdly random times.

The ONLY thing I can think of would be that my game is installed on an SSD drive, and my /documents folder is on a regular HD -- I don't have the ~user name on the SSD where the game is, but I can't imagine that would botch it up this bad.

If you have the game install on a separate partition it will still use the default location i.e. the default HD/SSD. If you have moved it then check this.

To get it to work in the partition you game is create a false folder with directory structure like this:

If your SSD is named "SSD" and your username is "bob", you'd create this path:

    /Volumes/SSD/Users/bob/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns

Make sure the permissions on that are set to allow writing (In Terminal use: sudo chmod -R /Volumes/SSD/Users/bob)

The Permissions need to at least allow the User to Read & Write.

If you have the EU install then it is not live but liveeu folder name.

If you moved your User home folder to another partition or external drive then check the first post in this thread which should work.

I manually created my user folder with the path suggested on my SSD system drive and that corrected the problem. Can do screenshots, addons, etc. Thanks for the assistance!

@Cairenn - Thank you, your answer for Macs _also_ gave me the information I wasn't quite getting for my PC =)
