Invitation to DEVELOPERS

Zenimax,

Keepers of Cyrodiil K.O.C. extend an open invitation to Zenimax developers to experience their game the way it is being played by many hardcore PvP guilds.

There are too many unconstructive complaints circulating and we see not enough is being done as a community to help improve our game.

We are an EU PvP guild currently playing AD on Thornblade, with vast experience with a large variety of size/style raids in Cyrodiil from launch. We have small scale raids, open raids (allowing new players to experience organised PvP and teaching them to be more effective in AvA), and 2 weekly premade bomb squads. Together with other active guilds on AD, we have organised our alliance and have made the Dominion into the most effective alliance on the EU mega server. The only obstacle in our way is the game performance; not only through impacting fights, but also being a big contributing factor to skilled players leaving the game.

We are taking the initiative, and opening our raids, to allow developers to gather any information they need to improve the game performance, feel, and experience; specifically in Cyrodiil.

We would like to show: ability block/delay, lag, latiency, crashes, sever roll backs, overuse of bows (soon to increase again with bow buffs in 1.5), broken or unintended(?) game mechanics etc... and how all these issues effect customers experience playing our game. We would also like to offer you feedback on any future plans & answer any questions you have regarding PvP & AvA and also offer some suggestions/ideas we have.

Please get in contact with @DlSTORTlON to arrange.

Our doors are open.

I don't mean to sound negative but what will it achieve? Devs do play this game live. Maybe mostly in NA rather than EU, but it's the same core issues over there.

It's highly likely that the reason they keep silent about crashes and lag is because they told to, so as not to court bad publicity by making announcements about them.

Let's put it that way, it's nigh on impossible that they are not aware of the majority of problems. Whether they can fix it or not is another question. A bit more communication would be nice.

They need to play this in a group at primetime and hear the feedback from players live. Preferably a PVP-Guild that spends a lot of time in Cyrodiil.

My point is they of course already do. A lot of them belong tpNA guilds and play in the evening which is their prime-time.

Besides that there's been countless of videos in these forums showcasing the lag and constant crashes. They'd have to be living on Mars to not be aware of the issues.

Trust me, software developers will 99% of the time know a lot more about what is going on with their software than customers (players). They have a ton of metrics to measure performance, crashes and a lot more besides.

Hence, I'm doubtful there's anything to be achieved from this, well intended as it is.

The EU-Server and NA-Server are different from each other. First of all Thornblade is the only Campaign ANYONE plays on at all. Azura's Star is medium-pop at primetime and the rest is empty.

Long story short: Maintenance and feedback on the NA-Server is not enough, there needs to be communication with the EU-Players too.

There is communication with EU players. Just because you are not a part of it does not mean there is no communication.

Also the way you described the EU servers mirrors the US servers almost exactly aside from action oscillating between azura's and haderus.

How about we go back to the topic of the invitation?

I don't want to read Players excusing the devs for their absence, i'd just like to see people like @ZoS_GinaBruno or @ZoS_JessicaFolsom or @ZoS_KaiSchober to at least recognize that there is an invitation directed at zos-employees to play the game with a Guild that loves the game, join them on ts and give a little input about whether they at least know these issues.

Many people are so tired of bugreports they don't even do it anymore.

Or do people right a bugreport every time 2 blobs stand next to each other fighting and noone dies or a weaponsswap takes more than 10 seconds? i sure don't anymore.

You can't seriously think that they can have too much feedback & experience? Not every guild/group plays the same way, and if they are gathering info from NA groups, will it be exactly the same info that they could be getting from us? I doubt it.

We didn't say there was no communication. We are freely offering to help, in anyway we can, to help improve the game and be party to the communication between developer and player base. I don't think the experience, opinions and ideas we are offering should be ignored (or treated as useless/insignificant by other players).

There are many instances where players have directly or indirectly pointed devs to causes of issues and help fix them.

    The invitation is open.

or perhaps; improve performance/experience to keep customers and increase the diminishing PvP player base. So there are enough players to competitively fill them both throughout the day.

Would be nice to see them again but even if you(zos) just did a few more pvp events on PTS with more warning and timezone considerations I'm sure we could get a large enough player base there to show the issues.

This is not about shaming, abusing or belittling. This is about reaching out and offering ZOS help, if they aren't too proud to accept it. In our view; the game comes first. Politics, face-saving and facades need to be forgotten.
