So i was one hit killed by an attack called "Burning" and the damage was massive. It was accompanied by a light (and even a heavy, in one case) Dest Staff attack. It happened several times to several ppl, by the same guy.
Uhm Burning is considered a DOT I "think" therefore your death recap would show an accumulation of the DOT rather than it actually being a one time hit.
I did. Is there a way i can share a jpeg located on my harddisk? And the Burning effect is no accumulation. I get hit once, and 2 lineitems show up: the Burning for upper 2-thousand dmg and a Heavy/Light attack for 100-300 or w/e
afaik burning comes from the flame damage enchantment. Was it a long fight?
mine only crits at most for 100 or so and he would have to hit you like 20 times with his staff to get that much damage accumulated.(Unless its a DOT)
I've seen death recaps before with some pretty insane "burning" damage all from 1 person in a fight that lasted less then 2 seconds, though in that case there were 10+ very coordinated (aka multi-boxed) people all casting the exact same thing all at the exact time. So in that case, I wonder if the burning from all of them stacked and showed only as from the one person (though every single person that died from that insane damage death recap damage came from the same person).
I cant explain it better than by saying he "One hit kills me". Everyone else he pointed his staff at, also got it. There was no battle. He just shoots a regualr staff attack once and you die.
The next occasion I was battling and he used a Heavy attack instead of a light attack, but it hit for near about the same dmg (Burning). The Heavy attack was higher of course though. Did not screen capture that one.
Venithar, there were a few people doing whatever here and there. No coordination that I could see. All I remember was two fiery balls heading at my face, with full health, and then I died.
I read people complaining about this same thing in Wabba pvp this afternoon - People saying the exact same thing, dying by one shot "burning." I didn't know what it meant until looking at this picture.

I do not know if its tied to this or not, but I would be in battle, and instantly die to cast type attacks myself, but never this one directly. Tied to hacks? Lag?
"Burning" isn't anything class specific. It is the chance added effect when hitting with a fire element, whether it is a player spell or fire enchant on your weapon. Theres no way that it should be doing that much.

I mad a DC alt and friended him to see his class. I couldnt resist the urge to speak to him. I wont go into what was said but he played dumb. He said he cant help it and that it was something to do with switching between his weapon, something about an "error" - all in broken English posing as an Argentinian.
could there be some sort of bug with stacking enchants? Overlaying identical enchants causing the damage to actually stack on a weapon rather than cancel out the previous enchant?
Thats the exact thing that comes to my mind, Tintin. But I am not as versed in those types of mechanics/statistics as others and was waiting for someone to say it.
As this game is not having any kind of 3rd party hack protection like PunkBuster or similar it has been only matter of time when all kinds of hacks start to appear into PvP.
Death recap showing bullsh*t
Yesterday I was killed (just killed, with no OMG-damage) and compared my death recap and CLS combat log.
They was different!
I checked enchants and while you used to be able to replace same enchants it seems that has been fixed..you cant waste a like enchant on the same ring or weapon.
