i must admit i am really only here in eso cause i love morrowind and want any and all things to do with morrowind (skyrim was a Great Game also but morrowind was by far better)
with todays patch 6 - 24 - 2014 (patch 1.2.3) i am getting incredible game loading speed and amazing graphics and the lighting omg is beautiful!
- well done!
but as i said thats not why i here, im here for the darkbrotherhood and pvp and any and all things related to morrowind.

It has been the opposite experience for me.

Since this patch hit, my FPS has dropped tremendously. I can no longer play this game on ultra high. I have to have it in medium and it still has fps problems

@SwampRaider - Is this specifically in PVP, or overall? We're currently looking into reports of sizable drops in FPS in Cyrodiil since the patch.

Just drop the shadows one but keep everything else maxed. Shadows take up the most resources.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌ It is specifically pvp. I regret to say that i got fed up with the game and didn't test it in PVE yet. I just don't feel like logging on after the cyrodiil mess.

The LAG in Cyrodill and FPS drops are Terrible.

The attention to detail they have put into the lighting is staggering.

I had a theory and tested it......The light inside the building absolutely follows the sun's position and movement. You can actually WATCH the light on the ground MOVE as the sun is moving.

Now if they can only fix the stupid issue I have where.

Its cloudy outside so sun but cant see it. Then looking AT the "sun" through the trees produces "sun" glaring through where there is no sun. Its VERY weird looking.

Try it and you will see what I mean.

For me, graphically the game looks even better. So far I am not experiencing the issues that some are. Thankfully of course.

I think it does look much prettier from what I saw in Daggerfall when I first loaded in but for me the graphical performance of the game has been degraded in both PVE and PVP. Last night the game ran fine for me on high settings everywhere. Now in PVE if I rotate the camera quickly everything gets blurry and takes a second to catch up. Cyrodiil is so terrible it made me log out and go play something else. I was getting 10 FPS and being attacked by guys before they'd even loaded in on my screen.

but, functionality? and things not being balanced in pvp and just a whole list of problems. i really wanted to say something nice and i tried. gave my best.

I've been duly impressed with the lighting as well. I've not tested it in PVP, so can't speak to it. But the visuals alone put a smile on my face, to the point it wipes out the overall snarky feeling I've got over the guild store/bank dynamics and list of miscellaneous things.

It just looks sharp.

I agree with you, one of the reasons I enjoy playing the game. Sometimes I just wander around looking at the scenery and be delighted when I find an Easter egg, or notice how the light creates shadows and sets the mood.

It certainly is refreshing, after years of playing a cartoony game for 9 years.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom, I can confirm I saw a FPS drop in PvE (I'm not a PvPer, so not sure there).

After the new Nvidia driver update, my frames were 40+ with only a few exceptions (where they were lower). Now they are mostly in the low - mid 30s sometimes dropping to the 20s.

I run a GTX 770 and have to turn shadows completely off to remedy the situation. I will point out I do have an older CPU (AMD 965BE)...

I agree completely and I cant wait to log in to see! I am on EU server. Well worth the wait though!

But playing skyrim, loving the graphic and then see how great it looks in ESO, then a patch a month ago or so....made things better! And now with this......I am excited to see!

Since the patch I've only been in 1 building where the new lighting was really noticeable (the bank in Wayrest), but oh boy was it noticeable. Very nice job.

The dungeons is where I really saw a huge change RE: lighting.

Lighting looks fantastic. Some great improvements overall in PvE (vet lvl provisions woot!). PvP, not so much (NA).

Agree, also the lighting effect is so powerful suddenly I am getting line of sight issues to interact or fight mobs, they could be standing right in front of me but due to light effects they can't be targeted.
