I see. I best get my hands on an authenticator then.
Thank you

I guess you haven't heard of brute force password discovery. Giving away your user name basically cuts their discovery time in half.
Cant hide it But Telephone Support will change your ingame @handle so its different than your login.
Make sure to tell them its only your ingame @ you want changed.
Done it myself at release.

This is correct, @Heinzy. (Here's a knowledgebase article about it.) Just contact our Support Team and they can get it changed for you.
Can't we just get an authenticator similar to Rift or WOW on our phones? That would not only save your support people time, but also money.... C'Mon! :P
True, I play ESO on 2 different computers (desktop & laptop), and the first time you log on from a different computer you can't do anything until you've entered in the code that they email to the email address they have on file for your account. So if you're dumb and let people know your email address, and your email password is the same as your ESO password then it wouldn't be super hard to crack. Otherwise it's pretty unlikely unless ZOS has a security breach.I see. I best get my hands on an authenticator then.
Thank you
Make sure your email password and game password are different and secure including a mix of numbers, letter, and symbols, they already have 2 step authentication, just most people are too stupid to realize that. Hint: Login to your ESO account on the main website from a new computer and see what happens. If you don't give your email out they cannot access your account even with your account password... unless you gave away what your email associated with the account is... and they have the password to your email.

Just to add clarification to this, your UserId that you login with is one in the same as your UserID in-game. Our Support Team can change it for you, but it will always be the same for both.

@Apophiss You can also set yourself to show offline. then no one can see you online at all. Follow that up with creating a chat tab that excludes all chat channels and boom: Zero contact until you choose it.
I want to hide my @name, each time I join a guild or talk in one everyone sees half my login info.
This is private information and I would like to limit any chance of someone trying to guess my password.
Thank you
